Hey hey hey

Good to see ya, good to see ya!
Love Mick Mars

Don't know nothing about them tubes, but that pricing is a little out there for current production glass.
They better be some good for that kind of coin.
Amp sounds good, and yeah, its not a metal amp, and isn't supposed to be a metal amp.
But let's cut to the chase...
That fukking vibe sounds incredible!
In fact, I just hit Google, found one in stock in Canada (Electric Mojo) and ordered one.
Thanks for posting!
Cool tune, but yeah that's a bit too much on the verb.
First of all, if you are running any mix bus compression or mastering limiting, it will drastically bring up all the low level audio like verb in a mix.
If that's the case, process the rest of the mix on another sub group and leave the...
Yeah, what the other guys said re the distance from the center of the chuck to the support post.
Advantages of a larger press include a larger table, and if you get a well made, sturdy enough one, they can be used as an arbor press to press frets and also to stake turrets to make custom turret...
Haven't played one in person, but the clips are not inspiring.
I'm in Canada as well, and there is no way I would consider one of these Marshall's over, for example, a Ground Zero Helion, a Headfist Alta, a Friedman JEL etc. that are all in the same price bracket for us Canucks.
And I also think...
I have a Wampler Ego comp pedal that is pretty cool.
I like the fact that it has a blend control and a tone control, so you can squish things pretty hard and then blend back some clean signal, and the tone control can help offset that darkening effect that can happen when you start to shave off...
By posting this sentence, and in the context of the thread, you seemed to be implying that because Mesa's do not have bias adjustment, they are cathode biased.
Sorry for the confusion.
Mesa's are NOT cathode biased.
They are fixed bias, but they omit the trim pot and just use a resistor in place of the trim pot, so that the bias voltage is non-adjustable.
I might have misunderstood what you wanted to do. If you are just going to play through them and not try to mod them, all the vox amps are decent enough.
The little single ended ac4's can be made a whole lot better by swapping out the ot with a Hammond 125ese.
A opt swap is actually pretty...
The cheaper Chinese vox amps are a nightmare to work with. The pcb's are cheap cheap cheap, and the traces are like tissue paper.
The handwired versions are on turret boards and are much nicer, with the newer 2nd version being really nice to work on, and a bit more robust than the first...
Ok. I'm not familiar with what is involved in ++-ing a C+.
it sounded like he put some extra solder pads and traces on the board to add the parts for the ++ mod.
So the re-issue 2c+ circuit board has all the provisions for the ++ mod already on the board....just add the parts?
Edit: listen @ 22:45 on the video
Ooof, that sounds like 💩.
I like Ola a lot, but I'm struggling with this vid.
The words coming out of his mouth are not matching his body language.
Oh yeah, forgot about the tube socket pinouts too.
Good point.
Agree on the primary impedance of the output transformer as well, but the heater current issue and the tube socket wiring issue are potential catastrophic failure points that would need to be addressed.
I'd start rolling 6L6's to try...
Biggest issue going from 6L6 variant ( 5881) to el34 variant ( kt77, 6550 ) is heater current.
El34 variants will draw close to double the heater current of 6L6 variants. If power transformer is designed for 6L6 types only, installing el34 type tubes will likely destroy the power transformer...
LOL!
" and on the JCM modified, I'm on clipping 2, with the pre-amp all the way up"
Yeah, sure, that's how I run all my Jose mods
5v clipping and gain on 10
they sound great dialed like that
OK
And everyone's shocked that the JVM sounds better
I have a '99 Les Paul Custom with the stock 490r/498t pickups, and it sounds damn good to me.
I tried an original Dirty Fingers, an MCP Afwayu, and a Suhr Aldridge in the bridge, and the stock 498t bridge was better.
I did rewire the guitar with quality 500k pots and some nos pio caps, but the...
Had one for a short while a couple of years ago.
Great amp!
In what could be one of the dumbest gear moves I've ever made, I traded mine straight up for a Friedman Small Box. Wish I could take that one back!
They need a bit of volume to sound best, but take boosts well.
Its a legit Silver...
