That was great
Thanks for posting that, as I had never heard of these guys.
Gotta say though, as good as the guitar and bass player are, that fukking drummer just kills it !!!
You should be able to buy terminal strips anywhere you would purchase resistors and capacitors.
For example:
https://tubedepot.com/t/diy-central/terminal-strips
https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/terminal-strip-3-lug-2nd-lug-common-horizontal
I would also recommend 1 watt or 2 watt 1 OHM...
I would suggest you do this:
1) Cut the traces for the Cathode grounds.
2) Solder in 2 x 1 OHM resistors
3) Measure voltage drop across resistors. Because the resistors are 1 OHM, mV = mA
Having the full B+ running through your meter is a recipe for disaster. You may not get a second...
Jesus, I don't know what to say.....
You can not measure current in parallel.
The meter has to be in series with the load to get a correct reading.
Or..
You measure a voltage drop, with your meter set to VOLTS, and use ohms law to calculate the current.
I'm not trying to be a dick, but if you...
I'm not exactly sure what you're measuring, but it ain't the bias.
In order to measure the bias correctly in a 22h, you have to cut traces and install 1 ohm resistors.
Then you measure voltage drop with your meter set to volts.
You can not measure current as shown in the pics.
The Homeskoolin' vids are some of the coolest shit to come out of the "Lock Down" era.
There's a whole series. Look 'em up.
Jim Brown was right....
Tom's a bad ass
One more thing.... In the Pete Thorn EVH deep dive vid, am I the only guy who had an "OH shit " moment when they dropped the NOS Sylvania 6CA7's into Pete's amp?
Just wondering if any of you guys have tried the Strymon stuff with a straight insert loop?
Insert Loop = Treble pot wiper > Send jack > FX > Return jack > Master vol type loop.
Thoughts??
Ya know, assuming Uncle Creepy is operating in good faith, and he hasn't manipulated the vid to achieve a desired result, is the Captor IR box responsible for homogenizing the tone of the clips?
Maybe plastering the same IR on all the clips causes them to null, where they wouldn't have...
eeeesh.... ya that's not cool.
If the tube sockets aren't mounted directly to the pcb board, try adding 68k grid stop resistors to the PI tube ( both grids ).
Not all Plexi's sound great with everything dime'd ( as Dave Friedman will attest )
Blocking distortion at the PI can be a problem.
The...
I've done this test with a 1983 JCM800 and a re-amp setup. The cab and mics were in an iso booth, and the 800 was in the control room.
We ran the same take through a re-amp box into the 800, with the only variable being the tubes.
We ran a series with a whole range of pre amp tubes, and a series...
I think if you want to use just the Syn-1 and the VH-4 module, you'd need the Two Notes Cab M.
The Captor X can still work for you, but will need to take the output of the Synergy module into the FX return of one of your amps, then from the speaker output of the amp into the Captor X.
If you...

His vids are always killer, and some of the best on the web!
Halo: Come on buddy!! Can you make it happen? ......fingers crossed.......:D
Happy NAD
I have the same amp.
These are pretty cool mod platforms for the $$.
Mine has been SLO -a-fied.
I hate the depth mod in SLO's ( not needed ) but it helps with the tone of the EL84's in these amps.
Any idea what was done to your amp or what the 2 switches do?
A gut shot or 2...
+1
Ya need the second stage to have the 10k cold clip cathode R to maintain the 800 vibe.
If you want more gain, add a bypass cap to the V2a 820R cathode resistor, or add a gain stage after the cold clipper.
