    Diezel Herbert : NEED PICKUPS

I've never tried the Emerald unfortunately, one of the few that has evaded me. However, several people on the BKP forum own them, it's worth asking there

    Divinity tabs.

I believe he tunes to 7-string D-standard. That's about as much as I can help heheh

Why is the Herbert 180 watts?

Maximum low end clarity. Bass frequencies require far more power to produce than treble (hence why your average touring bassist's rig is so much higher in wattage than your guitar rig). To reply to the guy that posted that comment, the power-amp-distortion-is-always-desirable myth needs to go.

    Diezel 2x12 w/ hempcones or V30s?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Jamie shares my view that the Herbert naturally goes with the FL cabs, as they provide the insane directness needed to translate the earth-shaking low end the Herbie puts out, while the VH4 is ridiculously tight as it is, and can reap the benefits of the "soulful"...

    Flightcase for a Vh4...

+1 to Castle Cases, they're extremely helpful guys and make a great flightcase. Reasonable prices and quick turnaround too!

I changed my opinion about the Herbert!

Have you tried muting the strings behind the nut with a hairband or similar?

The difference between the 3 Diezel amps?.....

I guess our arrangement may be more costly for you than you had originally thought hahah

The difference between the 3 Diezel amps?.....

Oh dear AdamB... You're going to have to try mine at some point. In fact on Wednesday I'll crank it up a bit to show you what it can do.

    p90's for distortion?

P90s are ridiculously underrated for high-gain stuff. Incredible clarity and note-separation like you'd expect from a single-coil, but with plenty of midrange fatness and chunk. Humbucker-sized P90s with nickel covers tend to be far quieter, though some of the best sounding P90s are so noisy...

Need some new cables....suggestions please (Olaf/Peter?)

I believe that Cordial cables are the ones Peter recommends, and I've heard nothing but good things about them. Personally I use Vovox cables, and love them to bits. They're fairly pricey though.

    Suhr / Anderson alternatives

That's not far at all. Cool to know, may well have to check them out at some point. Out of the high-end strat style guitars though, I'm yet to play anything that surpasses the Vigier guitars.

I was in D standard in the vid. I normally keep my guitars around E standard though. Ok mate, I'll see what I can do. Should be fun

    VH4 KT66

:scared: A VH4 with more lows?! Are we talking tight bass, or just monstrous rumble?

Cheers mate! The hairband is to stop the strings ringing out from behind the nut when playing staccato stuff, it's really useful trick. I don't use it to mute string noise. As far as the whole amp demo goes, I hadn't even thought of doing something like that, but I don't think it'd be too hard...
