Why so much hate for Carvin?
They make guitars as good as any boutique company out there, including Suhr, Anderson etc.
You can't buy them in any store & have to order direct, but so what?
My guess is that most people hating on carvin have never even seen one in person, yet alone played one...
It really doesn't matter. There are 100% accurate schematics of all Dumble amps out there from before he started gooping the guts.
I had a boutique amp builder build me an exact clone of the OD Special from the schematics. Didn't cost me $100K either.
Nik from Ceriatone has them too & can...

I sanded & cleaned the neck & applied tru oil & gun-stock wax so it...
I've always wanted one, as I am a huge early EVH fanatic, but didn't think they'd be that good.
I just wanted one for the sake of nostalgia, but these guitars are pretty damn awesome.

Has anyone done a transformer upgrade on their Ceriatone amps & did it improve the tone dramatically?
I'm wondering if upgrading to a Mercury would be worth it?
Nik says his transformers are comparable to all the high end one so I'm wondering if the extra cost is worth it.
