I had a Fargen Dual British Classic (Channel 1: Blackface; Channel 2: Plexi/JCM). It was amazing. Ben Fargen is a great guy to deal with and he make great amps. You can go wrong with a Fargen. For bedroom amp, you should really think about a Mini Plex.

No drive pedals for me too! I have the footswitchable Sat Switch mod on mine, and it gives me even more gain and a third master volume. I just need a delay and I´m ready to go! This amp is incredible!

My favorite settings (house friendly volumes): Pres: 4-5 bass: 8-10 Mid: 4-6 Treb: 4-6 Clean Volume: 2,5 BE volume: 2 Clean gain 6-7 BE gain 8 Bright switch on (first level of brightness, not the highest one) When I turn the volume up I usually need to reduce the bass and middle settings.

But you know you can get it! I didn´t change anything on mine. Not a preamp tube. It is completely stock (even the mod, since it was ordered this way). You should wait Dave´s answer. He will show up here anytime soon. Or send him an email.

I use my settings like this on my combo with my PRS 408: Bass on 8, Mids, Treble and Presence around 4.

I think you might have a bad preamp tube or something like this. I have a Smallbox combo and the Plexi Channel with the gain on 10 is pretty much AC/DC with my PRS 408 with the volume anywhere above 2.
