Thanks guys!
Right now I am contemplating the following WGS combos:
vet 30 / HM75
vet 30 / ET65
vet 30 / Lead 80
I want something that is good at high gain but still articulate so I think the last 2 combos might be the better choices.
I recently got a Bogner OS 2x12 ( thanks to glip22  ) unloaded and now I need to decide what speakers to throw in.
Is mixing speakers in a 2x12 a good idea or should this be reserved for 4x12s in an X pattern?
Thoughts, suggestions?
I currently have a Mesa 2x12 with v30s and I'm in...
In my '77 Custom I don't find the Solution to be too bright. I don't know how it would sit in a 57 though, but it might be an option.
MCP's are a little funny in terms of optimal pickup height so they take some tweaking.
I agree with the posts above that the JB is really a great fallback.
If you just listen to your other clips you can clearly hear a signature sound that is coming from your hands and guitar.
Have you plugged the Shiva into the Bogner OS? I'm pretty sure it would be nut busting awesome
Very much this. Its an insanely underrated amp and because of that you can get it dirt cheap used.
I would love to hear your baritone through the Rivera
Get the HT-5 for fun, to play whenever your neighbors are out. Axe in the loop of the ht-5 might be a cool combo. But if you are as volume restricted as I am I would used the money from the ht-5+pedals and get some nice studio monitors and headphones for the Axe FX. Get a tube amp for the Axe if...
oh yeah and unless you have super cool neighbors, don't bother with the big amp + attenuator route. You will never be satisfied with what is coming out of the speakers and if you are it is probably too loud. You could do
big amp + load box into a cab sim but at that pt you might as well get the...
You really need to be honest with yourself in terms of volume constraints. The HT-5 is a great little amp but for my volume purposes, its a little too loud with the volume at 10 o'clock. If you want really brutal tones you really should do the Axe or some other modeler.
Thanks guys, I guess I need to sell of my JVM and move on to R8. I agree will all the above, while the Traditional's are great guitars the R8s are better
So I tried both of these this weekend and I was truly blown away by the R8. I had been seriously considering buying a Traditional Plus, but after trying an R8 for the first time ever I think I want to save up for one of those. However, I was wondering how close could I get to the R8's sound by...
