Why don't more people play Parkers?

FourT6and2, I like your style. :) I don't have money for any new Parkers, but if I did I'd be thinking along the same lines, except you may as well throw the graphtech hexaphonic preamp/midi out in there at the same time if it's gonna have the graphtech ghost saddles there as standard. I never...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

I was only curious. Some people on here seem to blow some serious money on guitars so figured the "too expensive" argument wasn't really true for a number of people. Basically the big answer seems to be they aren't popular as everyone thinks they're ugly, including the pretty normal ones(?), no...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

Everyone probably thought strats looked ridiculous when they came out tbh. All flat like a plank of wood? Doesn't look woody? Funny headstock? Big funny pickguard? Those square headstockless ones are steinbergers as mentioned above they're a bit too far for me.

Why don't more people play Parkers?

I love traditional looking instruments, and love everything from the road worn strat/tele/LP to the black pointy metal axe (although not with too garish a paint job!), explorers, or a BC Rich Mockinbird. But equally I don't want to follow everyone else's musical direction, so if I think my...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

Yeah, that's why I loved playing them but didn't actually GAS for one til the Mojo came. Far fatter and meatier beast. Regarding the other comments and them being ugly, I like the look of many and love how my flies look, but even I find some pretty distasteful, and some bits like the original...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

Rough vague Model history (I'm no historian!): First there was the fly. No low spec model existed. You could then have the deluxe (can't remember the wood), or the classic (mahogany). Or there were the more special versions (select/artist) made of other woods. They were basically all the same...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

Those DF824s definitely look nice. If I was in the market for a new top if the range one that might be what I'd go for. Has the DF824 got the reinforced carbon neck/fingerboard? When you say better than the old ones, do you mean old dragonflies or niteflies, or other older Parkers. I loved the...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

I can see some of them look a bit shocking to some, but that's why I figured the one I posted at the top is one of the later more 'normal' ones. I defy anyone to say that doesn't look great unless you only like vintage designs. The newer headstocks look more normal too, but you lose the ability...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

I love the wood though - Transparent Honey for the Nitefly (with white sparkly pick guard) and flame maple blue burst on the other. :) I'd rather keep those than swap for black! They're not entirely made of carbon finer, but apart from some newer options and the import versions they've always...

Why don't more people play Parkers?

Why don't more people play Parkers? Just wondering! I love my Fly Mojo and Nitefly! Would love the new DragonFly/Maxxfly too, would have to get the Carbon/Glass neck though (one of the reasons I love the ones I have). I know they had a period with a few quality issues but mine are great. :rock...

    This is out of control...

Can't beat down on someone because they love guitars but their job gives them lots of money but not enough time to practice! If i was musically useless and had plenty of cash I'd still buy guitars and amps, if only to look at, as they're a thing of beauty and craftsmanship. Beats antique...

    Lil Fokker

Yeah, maybe a 50W version should be 'lil Fokker, 100W Fokker, and Herbie style 150W Big Fokker! :) I have no money for new amps, but if the Fokker came in the Red Baron's livery of Red and White tolex with a black iron cross I'd be forced to buy one and go on stage with a leather flying cap and...

What guitars do you play your Diezel with?

Is it just nice to have 4 different ones or are those LPs quite different sounding due to pickups/wood/etc? Similar neck profiles?

    Extreme guitar polishing!

It's not scratched enough that I'd sand it. It actually looks kinda circular scratches like it's scratched from being polished with a dirty cloth, or the polish has too much abrasive properties. Some of it looks like it's definitely over-excited picking too though. Wanna get back to that shiny...

    Channel Switching/Looper/M5 question...

    P.S. To remember for general audio XLR cables: 1, 2, 3. X, L, R. Xternal (shield), Line (+), Return (-).

    Channel Switching/Looper/M5 question...

Pin 1 of an XLR should be the screen/shield normally for a standard cable if that helps? (2=+, 3=-) Dunno how it's wired for that though. I'd have guessed tip = XLR 2, ring XLR 3, sleeve = XLR 1.

Most affordable and simple pedal switcher for pedalboard

Depends on the rest of your rig tbh and your definition of simple. I got a voodoo labs pedal switcher as part of my rig is midi and my ground control switches and programs the pedal switcher and all the midi stuff (and a gcx if I add one to my rack later). So stupid simple to use from that...

    Extreme guitar polishing!

Hello folks! I was wondering if anyone's tried polishing their guitar with either one of those sheepskin or sponge type drill attachments. My dad uses one to burnish the sides if his boat over the winter and wondered if it might work with guitar polish or I it'd be a bit extreme. Some of my...

What guitars do you play your Diezel with?

Nice! Yeah, I'm not looking to buy a guitar at the mo btw. Just geeking at them. I'm skint at the mo, and bought another Parker the end if last year along with some other pedal toys. I love my Parkers, but great to hear why other people love theirs as some day when I have more cash I'll...
