    Cab impedance question.

Yeah, normally you always use 2 cabs of the same impedance. Hence I wondered if you made one a higher impedance does it matter if the total in parallel is a bit higher if it matters, it if it sounds crap, or if it's bad for the amp.

What's the difference between Herbert 2+, and 3?

Yeah, would sometimes be nice if the 3 channels were voiced 1, 2-, and switchable 2+/3. Not complaining but I could happily swap the switchable mid cut for midi switchable +/- mode instead. I hardly ever use mid cut. Maybe I should experiment with it more as loads of people love it?

    new VH4 owner + flightcase

I got a custom live in one from theflightcasecompany.com. They were called NSP cases then, but I believe that's what they still brand their homemade/custom ones.

What's the difference between Herbert 2+, and 3?

Title says it all really! Just curious as if I tweak the gain and tone knobs as much as possible they still sound a bit different I usually used 3 for heavy, and use 2 in - mode with higher gain for more bluesy stuff, but recently been using 2+ more for heavy sounds and switching the +/- more....

What string gauge and tuning do you use?

I've been through a load, was down a whole tone (usually in Drop-C), at one point with 12-56, but gradually lightened up, then went back up a semitone still on 10-52s, then got lighter strings again, so now back to 10-46 (usually Drop Db). I've got a few packs of 12-56 kicking around still so I...

Diezel Herbert MKI, MKII, Bogner Uber Rev 2, or Twin Jet?

Out of those amps I'd buy the Mk 1 Herbie. Out of those amps I've only tried the Mk 1 Herbie! I'd buy the Herbie because I love mine and if I tried all the others then I'd have to do lots of head scratching and make decisions which I'm not very good at. ;) Regardless, I love my Herbert...

    Cab impedance question.

It's not really worth it, as this is something I could do with doing only on a very irregular basis.

    Cab impedance question.

Hello! I have an 8 ohm Diezel 2x12 (FL V30s) and a Marshall 1960A 4x12 (G12T-75s), which is 4 or 16 ohm mono. Can I run them both at the same time? What jacks on my Herbert should I use (and 4 or 16 on the Marshall)? Would the 4/16 ohms decision just change the volume of the Marshall...

    Parker P-36

Hello! Anyone got any opinions on these? I love my Parker Fly Mojo to bits, but fancied getting something like a tele for a change (already have my old Jackson Dinky, and a vintage hollowbody Hofner too). Then remembered they made these telecaster-y Parkers once. Obviously a fraction of the...

Differences between the amps in the line

When I played Islington academy with my Herbie the sound guy spent ages EQing all the other guitars in the bands before and after us. When he soundchecked me he got a grin, said that sounds fkn sweet with the EQ flat, and moved on. Kinda felt cheated he didn't fiddle long enough! Made me happy...

What are the differences between the herbert mk1 and mk2

Suck 'em in with the beautiful warm delicate melodies then bash their brains out! More how a psychopath would work. Need the caring and considerate friendly face to lure them in, or you'll never get all those bodies to bury under your basement!  That's exactly why I love it...

What are the differences between the herbert mk1 and mk2

That's exactly why I love my Herbie though. There's a number of very nice high gain amp heads out there. The reason I was sold on I though is the fact it can do everything very well. I want a fat sound that can punish the audience into submission, but equally my music isn't just metal, I want...

What are the differences between the herbert mk1 and mk2

What about ch 1? Well it's a seymour JB bridge and jazz neck usually hitting it. I never figured the Jazz was *that* hot. Maybe it's just me playing too dynamically, hitting it harder on notes I want to accent and they're all like it. Maybe there's something awry with mine. I'll find out...

    Doing something wrong... VH4 - G major 2

An empty patch with no effects on in the serial loop no good then, since the MIDI signal is gonna patch change the G-maj anyway? Even so if you're just doing delay in the parallel loop, it's all plugging in right, and the FX unit has sensible levels then it should work as you have it. Not...

    Doing something wrong... VH4 - G major 2

BTW, what effects are you trying this with? Have you tried it with JUST reverb or Delay. If you have other phase/flange/detune based effects you'd the just that half of the effect being passed on to the reverb/delay and it might do odd things. So try with just delay say first. If that works and...

    Doing something wrong... VH4 - G major 2

Sorry, didn't read it properly. Was thinking it was a Herbert. My bad. It which case I guess it should work, and yes, you'd want killdry on else you'll get horrible phasing issues. Best get back in my box. :aww:

    Biasing Herbert w/Bias Rite

Whilst I'm on a roll with the biasing questions... Can changing V6 affect the bias at all (or any of the other preamp tubes). Obviously you don't need to bias preamp tubes, but I was wondering if this could effect the voltage on the power tubes grid?

    Doing something wrong... VH4 - G major 2

Sorry, explain again? Are you using the switchable serial send, and the parallel return? I didn't think you could do that. Maybe you can. I haven't read the manual in a while, but I'd have thought that would send the signal ONLY out the switchable send braking the direct path through the amp...

    Biasing Herbert w/Bias Rite

How do you mean? You still need to bias the stock tubes, surely? It just means they're the recommended type doesn't it, not that they'll all have exactly the same plate current vs grid voltage?
