The MC1 and VC sound like Marshalls without all the shit that sucks about a Marshall.
All the clips posted are of the more current Wizards, MTL, MC2, Hell Razor etc. Those don’t sound like Marshalls.

They never sounded good to me even when they were new. The 2205/10’s are the only 800’s I thought sounded good.
My old plexis were always modded 2203 circuits with 6550’s back in the day. They sounded good. But actual 2203’s whether JMP or JCM never sounded good. Just picked up a 78 2203...
Picked up a 78 2203 JMP that the headshell is pretty trashed cosmetically. Anywhere to get replacement plastic parts nowadays? Noone I typically deal with has logos, top vent or corners anymore.
Yeah, good possibility. I started messing with amps around ‘90. Alot of the articles and people I talked with referred to it as doping. So I tend to still call it that. This ‘78 2203 I just picked up has brown paint. Looks original.

That was my first Wizard, 93 Metal. Sent it to Rick and had it modded. Gain mod, bass boost and tube fx loop. Loop Return gave me a nice overall master. Nice amp, on the brighter side.
It is one of the few high gain amps that still retains a vintage voice. Not the compressed, saturated, thin/ bright cap kinda tone. The notes don’t have “hair” on them. Big, solid sounding and never changes tone thru an entire 4 hour show cranked. I go from gig to gig and rarely ever need...
They must have changed them. The El34L used to be 500 on the screens EL34 was 450 and the ii used to ba a lower output el34. They must have redesigned the II, the original version was not good when I tried them.
