The Syn-50 is decent IMO. I A/Bed it with the Syn-20 and they sound about the same. Good bordering on great. I've always gotten better results with my 2/90/2 or 2150, but the Synergy heads are pretty convenient. When used prices come down a bit more I'll probably grab another Syn-20.

You're the first to mention KSR. I tried a Gemini a while ago and thought it was cool, kinda dark though. Which KSR would you recommend? I'm looking for bright, tight, and gobs of gain. I think the Hermansson makes the most sense, but it would be nice to not spend $4k!

I think this could definitely be a winner. The clips can come across as a bit harsh/sterile but there's no denying it's one of the most brutal tones I've heard. $$$$
