Women at gigs have responded to the "prettier" guitars I've had over the years with colorful flamed or quilted maple tops. They're usually regulars who've seen us a bunch. I get a lot of "you brought my favorite guitar!"
Conversely, years ago a woman of...a certain age...who...
As far as the 100w heads go, one in the same. Pretty sure the only EL34 versions are the 100w Stealth and the 50w head.
My favorite by far was a really early demo model 5150 III 100w head my local GC got in just before they were officially released. I'm not sure what tubes were in it (they...
Until recently, I used a hard-sided, wheeled travel briefcase to haul all my cables, mics and my 101b footswitch when it wasn't mounted to my pedalboard. Something like this...

Now I put it in one of the pockets of my Line6 Helix backpack...
Ah, gotcha. I read your "old Roadrunner from GC" as "old Runaound from GC" which is what I usually get. :D
That's good info...was looking at picking one up, but will definitely check out other options, thanks! I thought someone posted about Road Runner here a few weeks back but it might have...
I think it might have been something like this Road Runner case/stand. I'm in the market for something like this too.

That's a 6-space, but they have different sizes.
Hey Rob,
Unfortunately, I'm over 200mi and 3hrs away from Hibbing. I won't be able to make that trek, apologies.
It's not too far off the beaten path from Duluth, MN, which is a lot closer. Any Rig-Talkers there that can help out?
Always experimenting here too. That's half the fun. Never heard of Guitarforce, too bad he's no longer in business. Tried Motor City Afwayus and Bare Knuckle Nailbombs years ago when I was looking for something heavier. Great pickups but they ultimately weren't what I was looking for. Planning...
Man I just checked out the clip and a few of their other tunes. Your friend Rob is a tasty player man!
I've heard of them, but hadn't heard anything by them 'till today. Good stuff! I see they're from Baltimore too. I grew up just outside of Harrisburg, PA and spent a lot of time in MD...
I've never swapped or modified the trems on any of Floyd guitars, other than to block or add a D-Tuna. Been meaning to investigate that option (FU Tone, etc.). Need to stop procrastinating.
What pickups did you end up with in your Axcess'?
And...I think you should keep the Peavey and EBMM!
Arched-top USA Peavey Wolf Standards are maple capped, regardless of color. The Specials are just basswood. Pretty sure all MM Axis guitars have a maple cap too right? Even if they're a solid color?
Minneapolis/Saint Paul area?

Unless that's the "current backline offering" you're referring to.  I know the owner, Rob. Great guy, great service, and a killer player in his own right. His site's a little outdated and I don't think he has a...
Being mainly an LP guy, I have a particular Custom that I've bonded with over the years, so the biggest issue is probably that I'm really used to that. The neck on the Lifeson Axcess just felt really "off" to me. The width across the fretboard was definitely wider than any other LP I've ever...
I was dead set on picking up a Lifeson Gibson Axcess a few years back and after trying several, gave up in frustration. Huge Lifeson fan, but not a fan of those guitars at all.
I'm blessed to have some nice guitars (Gibson, Fender, PRS, Suhr, Hamer) and my band mates still say my USA Peavey Wolf Special is the best sounding of the lot. It's really different than anything else I have or have heard. The only thing I can compare it to, which stands to reason, is if you've...
Congrats! Both are great guitars, I don't know how I'd pick just one. :)
FWIW, I have 10s on my Peavey Wolf Special tuned to Eb and the tension has always felt a little looser than all of my other Strat scale-length guitars. No idea why, but not a bad thing at all.
I have the exact same issue with my SoCal. Love the guitar, but especially as I'm getting up there in years, it definitely fatigues my had after a bit. It's not super thin, but just enough that I don't normally play it for an entire gig. I don't have those issues at all with the beefier necks on...
I switch back-and-forth between my Wolf and LPs fairly regularly. I don't think the fretboard radius change is much of an issue, but it might be for someone else. The fatter asymmetrical "C" shape to the back of the neck is a bit more pronounced than the newer EVH Wolfs and I'd say a bit more...
The USA Peavey Wolfgang Standards and Specials are both great guitars. For anyone still interested in these, the USA Standard is a basswood body w/ bound, arched maple top and asymmetric birdseye maple neck. The USA Special is a flat-top basswood slab with an asymmetric hard rock maple neck...
