Thats awesome, I imagine it plays beautifully. It's funny how getting an import guitar I actually like only makes me want the real thing even more.
This custom shop looks really cool, seems ti have the right people involved. I imagine its expensive as hell though. Looks awesome either way.
My other humbuckers are PRS Dragon II's, Gibson Classic 57's, Duncan Pearly Gates+, and a Duncan Distortion. The 36th anniversary in the neck is really nice, articulate, and splits pretty well. I am really considering one in the bridge at some point. It reminds me of the old Tim Shaw pickups I...
After more difficulty than it should have been, I finally got the dimarzio 36th anniversary and the super distortion installed. Im really enjoying them. They are definitely a different flavor than anything else i have, but they sound great for a 80s rock type thing. Thanks again for all the...
I have to agree that the korean Bc Rich guitars are way nicer than I would've expected. I bet the Duncan Sh6 sounds awesome in that guitar. I have one in and old frankenstrat and it rips. Hopefully I get the Dimarzios today. Should be awesome!
Thank you guys for the thoughtful replies. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 36th anniversay/super distortion set. ChurchHill, you might have me sold on trying out some BKPs next though. They sound awesome. Thanks again, Rig-Talk rocks
Figured I would get the experts advice here,
I picked up an import BC Rich Mockingbird STC w/ a floyd rose special and want to throw some better pickups in it. They need to have 4 wires for the coil split/reverse phase/ varitone mess that is in the guitar. I play a wide variety of rock but I...
I really enjoy my mark v:25. I have gigged it many times and enjoy it over many other amps I've owned. I like it with a thiele cab and an evm12l. Works great with a V30 as well.
Same pawn shop sold me an early ESP KH-2 Ouija for $600 and a 1994 Ibanez Iceman IC-500 for $180. Sold the Ouija to pay for my wedding and traded the Ibanez for a PRS CE-22 that I still have. Loved both of those guitars though.
Just try a V30 in it. I have a purple stripe Mark III combo with a V30. I never changed it out because it sounds good to my ears. I use a mark V:25 with a V30 as well. They both sound good for vintage rock styles to me.
I guess I miss my 1994 Esp Ouija. I sold it to pay for my wedding to a guy in Germany. No regrets there, but it was THE guitar I dreamed about as a kid. Sweet guitar, but I can't justify the cash it would cost to buy it back.
My two amps right now are a purple stripe Mark III combo and a 50 watt DSL w/4x12. After gigging both, I would probably stick with the Mark III. That being said I really like the Green channel on the DSL. It sounds really good boosted.
Thanks man, somehow I lucked out and found 2 at the same time. It's alot of fun going back and forth between the LP and the 335. They are both keepers for sure.
Just finished a band practice. I ran both guitars through a mesa mark III and through a Marshall Dsl 50. The les paul sounded killer... and I mean killer with the mesa on high gain. Lots of clarity and just really agressive. Both guitars sounded great though. The 335 is a different beast. No...
So I found myself at a guitar center and couldn't decide on a LP Custom they had or a really great 335... I ended up getting both haha... The Les Paul Custom is a 1983 that has seen better days, but plays great, sounds great, and has it where it counts. The 335 outplays a bit though so it had to...
Saw Sammy last year expecting a crap show and I have to say he brought the goods. It helped that he had Jason Bohnam with him and they played some Zeppelin tunes. One of the better surprises I have had at a show.
