how many do not play in a band
I haven't been in a band in about three years and I haven't played a gig in about two and a half.
how did you get the $$$ for such great gear?
I have a job. I'm also 37 so I've had a few years to put this collection together.
Do you use all of the gear you own...
The second time I played a Dual Rectifier I got to turn the master volume up to somewhere around 2:00.
I've had many since then but that day still stands out in my mind.
Yes. Although I make no promises as to whether using a pedal as a preamp will sound good jacked straight into the power amp as I've never tried it myself.
The preamp insert is typically dedicated to the heads preamp.
However, if you're willing to give up loop 4 for a second preamp you could switch preamps the way you want to.
I've done it with a Mark V. It sounds pretty good, tracks super fast and produces a decent amount of low end, but it doesn't have that closed back thump.
In a perfect world I think I'd use closed back for rhythm and open back for clean and lead.
My favourite cab is a slant Recto 4x12 (standard) with the stock V30s. It's big and percussive. It doesn't have the upper mid spike typical of a V30 cab and leaves a spot in the mids where the vocals typically sit.
Other cabs I have sitting around:
Recto 2x12 - Same basic flavour as the 4x12...
How do they sound mic'd? Same basic vibe as a bigger Recto cab?
I already have a Standard 4x12 and 2x12... Looking for something more portable that still produces closed back thump.
Anyone use one? General thoughts/opinions? Anyone compare it to the thiele cab?
For reference, I'm talking about the original, deeper Recto 1x12 and not the thinner Mini-Recto 1x12s.
I don't remember where I saw it but it was about a month ago.
I just checked eBay and there's one sitting at $560 with 24h left. I doubt that'll be the final selling price so it doesn't really prove anything but deals do happen.
It's one of the reasons I haven't sold my 2 channel... Every time...
A quick google search shows them going for $1500 -1800. All were 2x12 combo versions... Never saw a head for sale but I'm not going to spend all day searching either.
I have a 2 channel Dual Recto and a Roadster. The Roadster has seen constant use for the last 3+ years while the 2 channel sits on a shelf collecting dust.
Considering you're not getting much use out of channel 4 i would consider the exchange if it was for a new Multi-Watt Recto. If it's an...
I bought the album off iTunes and listened to it on my way to work today. While I wanted to like this band it's yet another example of a terrible mix destroying what could've been good music.
The worst part is the drums. They're so forward in the mix they've killed the rest of the rhythm...
I think it's mostly the vocals that are killing metal. I've found people are pretty accepting of the actual music but loose interest the second the vocals kick in.
If we ignore the music that's extreme for the sake of being extreme... there's a lot of stuff that could be more appealing if it...
