    Anyone buy from JJ direct?

How do you like the EL34-II compared to the E34L? I have the latter and find them a lil too low-end heavy Yup, have had just one JJ tube fail on me in years. They may not sound perfect, but I prefer reliable tubes over slightly better sounding ones

    Live rig: amp vs digital

There are no doubts this is the guitar forum I'm a member of where people have the most badass (and pricey) amps around, so this got me curious: when going out for a gig do you keep the jewels at home and bring the comfy digital, or you go straight with the heavy beast? bonus pic

    Anyone buy from JJ direct?

Ok, yeah, JJ tubes suck big time bla bla, but just in case I wanted some cheapo tubes as emergency swap these seem like a good deal from the site https://www.jjtubes.eu/ Anyone got stuff from them? BTW apparently TAD is selling EL34B-STR for cheap, I recall these not being super reliable...

Yup, north of Italy is quite a place for boutique guitar gear, only downside is well, it's boutique lol My main gripe with RS stuff is I don't really mind ENGL savage level of features, switches n stuff, much prefer the baby above here

'THE COUNT' compares Marshall 1959HW stock output transformer to Mercury Magnetics output transformer

Most often the clearest, most articulate sound comes up as nicer for many, but I honestly dig the stock sound more.

Thanks, I don't recall hearing about this, neither about custom builds, which is interesting as I live like half an hour from Luca (y)

NGD Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Nice!

Good to know, mex Charvels are a reference in their price range, I've always thought some mid range Schecters felt cheap and plastic-y, good to know this one doesn't. The whammy being a pain is to be expected I guess, it's a Special unit so as long as it stays in tune it's fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Friedman PLEX

Nice air to the sound, and totally agree about the crisp note attack thing, you can hear from the demos. I dig.

It's funny cause some years ago, think pandemic days, I asked Luca why he wouldn't make an hot rodded plexi like many other amps guys, and he was like "nah, I want to keep it different". Guess he noticed there's a fine piece of cake for it lol, sounded badass when I heard it first time.

NGD Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Nice!

Yup, nyato is often much lighter than mahogany, and mellower sounding, but also cheaper so it's first choice with imports. How do you like it compared to a Mexican charvel? Also the finish looks damn cool, with they used it on other models too

NGD Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Nice!

Na, i have a USA Schecter so I'm used to that headstock, which I dig, and I've played loads of very good indos. My gripe with some Schecs is the brand tends to put too much poly on their bodies so their guitar feel somehow plastic-y, and rely too much on nyato wood and other softer sorta...
