Keep in mind Charvel necks and Charvel bodies have 2-1/4" neck pockets and neck heels. The standard is 2-3/16" inches. So if you try and throw a Warmoth or Fender neck on a Charvel body you will have a gap all the way around the neck. On the other hand you won't be able to jam a Charvel neck...
I watched the Leon Todd demo, and he normally does good sounding demos. What I am getting from his demo is what sounds like it could be an MP-1, but it's in the next room. There is no in your face character to the sounds he is getting at all. I use plug-ins and can get them more in my face...
I was poking fun at our Canadian members. Like everyone else, I couldn't fight off tapping my foot to Turn Me Loose but normally I could get it under control before anyone saw me. I didn't realize that Loverboy was a sacred cow up there. If I buy red leather pants, a red leather jacket and a red...
Ummmm, no. Loverboy was never hip. There used to be a great player on Rig-Talk back in the day who was from Canada, "randyvansykes" was his name I think. We used to have some awesome threads where we all really gave each other a bunch of crap but had some great discussions and anytime "RVS" was...
LOL, I know it did happen. Same as happened to me. The old guys didn't embrace Van Halen just like the equivalent old guys didn't embrace Elvis or the Beatles or Hendrix etc. heck, the other guitarist in my band, was a total Van Halen/Rhoads freak too and when Yngwie came out, he drew a line in...
I'm not trying to tell you that. I'm telling you that. The "old dudes" in this guitar shop were not into the younger, new players. They were in to the players they grew up on. The 60's guys. That's no news flash. In the exact same way I was not into the 90's stuff when younger kids would come in...
LOL, all us 80's rockers and even the older 70's era glam guys have to admit that it is pretty damn funny that we are complaining about this kids hair or his fashion choices. If you could go into our skeleton filled closets and post pics of our worst fashion choices while trying to be in the...
As a certified old man guitar player, this thread takes me back about 40 years. I remember it being say 1982 (so I was around 15) or so and going in to my local guitar shop where there were a couple of guys who worked there that I thought were old as hell. They were probably 26-30 years old now...
I think it is pretty sobering when you step back and look at your gear and realize you have better gear than your heroes did when they recorded the albums that inspire you for playing and tone to this day.
We all knew that online buying was a loophole where we could escape sales tax and we all should have known that as soon as it was possible our politicians would close the loophole.
Anyone think Reverb and Ebay wanted to start collecting and remitting taxes to 1000's of different tax jurisdictions throughout the world? They wanted, with no increased profit to them, to take on that massive burden and hire departments of people to make it happen? Governments have forced them...
I do that at the grocery store. I go up to the produce guy and say, "hey man, bring these apples to the back door and I'll drive around and pay you cash for them."
