Mark Cameron told me a couple of times specifically that it is very difficult to mod a Marshall and make it sound better than just hitting the front of a stock Marshall with an SD-1 or TS-9. He felt most guys who modded Marshalls didn't achieve that and that is what my experience tells me too...
I have owned a few modded Marshalls including 3 or 4 Cameron modded Marshalls. The Camerons are killer but to my ear and the way I play, I prefer a stock Super Lead circuit and I "mod" it with a Boss SD-1 or a Boss OD-1 or a Boss GE-10 or an MXR 6 Band EQ, or a Tube Screamer or with a strat I...
Every time I hear or read negative comments about Rhoads tone all I can think is "Tell me you weren't there at that time without telling me you weren't there at that time". The same thing when I read about guys who like Jake or Zakk better, it's like tell me you were born in 1970 or later and...
Just monstrous. Everything about Randy at the time. Especially his live tone. It was just the hugest thing.
If you were old enough to experience Eddie when he launched, then Randy 3 years later and then Yngwie 2 years later as they burst onto the scene in order, it was incredible.
Yeah, so hammered nailed what Warren used on the Out of the Cellar leads by posting the above video on the first page of this thread. In the video, Warren says a Fender Champ and then immediately corrects himself and says Super Champ. If you buy a Fender Champ or Vibro Champ you are going to be...
Sorry, no. I saved and saved and when I finally had the $650 the Kramer was going to cost I went to Guitar Center in downtown Chicago, the only store I knew of in the area to buy a Kramer. When I got there the salesman had me check out a couple of Kramers. I was pretty stoked and ready to buy...
I was just doing the math that Billy was touring with a 22 year old guitar in 1981 and compared it to a 22 year old guitar in 2024. So yeah kidding and not taking this too seriously which is why I ended my post with a "lol".
A '59 burst was around $3-5k in the late 70's which was a lot of...
Exactly. No idea what the OP is talking about as the Blue channel has been the celebrated channel since these amps came out and everyone has been trying to tame the red channel since the beginning. Red channel is over the top ridiculous amounts of gain and IMO has to be set on about 10 o'clock...
I have always written the guitar rhythms first. Then I figure out the speed and put down a click and record a scratch guitar track so I can write the drums. Once I have drums laid down I can record the guitars for real. I like coming up with the guitar riffs first so they are just guitar riffs...
Maybe he has one of those Randall George Lynch Signature model MTS heads behind that he is using? He always had the plexi behind the Randall's when he was supposed to be using the Randall's so now maybe he has is doing the reverse? :ROFLMAO:
