Thanks for the 11 month old bump putting this on the front page instead of page 271 where it belonged. You had me screaming NOT AGAIN?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! until I saw that this was from February 2022.
The holes are not only off center, they are huge. We don't do rear mounting for a Floyd unless the buyer specifies it, but I think there is only 1 guitar out there with a rear mounted nut that we did. That doesn't count this atrocity that Helen Keller worked on. :)
Good thing it's a bolt-on neck. Ha ha. We have told a couple of prospective buyers that we would be happy to swap that neck for a new one (for a charge obviously) but would love to take that neck out of circulation so no one makes the mistake thinking we did that.
Couldn't be that many years, the kid looks like he is seven. :)
Seven and smoking me. Sad.
When I read "kid", based on the age of many of us, I was expecting to see a 30 year old, not literally a kid. Well, I'll tell you what he can't do as well as me. Drink legally. Here's to you Abim.
That's the one that someone butchered the Floyd Nut install by making substantially larger holes in the back of the neck than is necessary. When this left our shop, the nut was top-mounted. It's definitely repairable but you will see the repair after it is done.
Like many here, Steeler, both Alcatrazz albums, Rising Force and Marching Out. I still listen on occasion to other stuff of his but those are the pinnacle for me.
The Charvel necks are oil finished which to my hands provides the most comfortable finish available for guitar necks. Oil finish is not going to seal the wood anywhere near as well as the paint on the Gibson necks. Oil finished necks are susceptible to changes in humidity more than a painted...
Yes, this ^
Fret wear and divots start to happen a few months in on a guitar you play a lot. All of my favorite guitars I'm sure have fret wear and divots. I don't look for it. I just play them. They play great until the fret wear gets to the point that they no longer play great. Then they need...
Maybe I read this wrong. We aren't collecting any money for guitars we haven't committed to building.
We had to put a pause on accepting new orders as we ALMOST got overwhelmed. I still can't say at this point when we will start taking custom orders again but I can say there are going to be...
It's hard to tell from your pictures, but the tuning peg posts sticking out of the Low E and A strings seems much shorter than the ones for the High E and B strings. You said that the Low E and A string ones are too short. Can we see a pic of all 6 of the tuning posts sticking out the front of...
Rocco, your clips always sound great and it seems you are a fantastic engineer also. What sort of minimal processing are we talking about? I have a feeling minimal processing to you is way over many of our heads.
