yup I’m with you man - I just recorded my amp cranked, then again with the Power Station - there is some weirdness with the power station no matter how I dial it.

so when switches are set to flat, it sounds great - but seems dark to me, but I can fix that with the amp settings. But definitely gonna record the amp with no attenuation so I can get a real comparison on what’s happening with the tone change that I THINK i’m hearing. either way, gonna keep it...

i dont get the swirl with the ho attenuator. i have had the amp cranked and recorded with no attenuator, it wasnt there then, but that was a few years ago. might have to just rent a room to do some recording with no attenuator to make sure it’s not the amp

PS-2A is getting weird artifacts at low volume with my Blankenship plexi :( So it’s going back. Guess I’ll stick with the Ho - just won’t crank the amp past 7 - which is whats worked for the last 20 years lol MIGHT try that new Boss Waza, but will have to get over this disappointment 1st hah...

yup!! It doesn’t make the sd-1 sound like a tubescreamer though, it’s more of a frequency shift on the SD-1 to focus more on lower mids. I was shocked how different the sd-1 sounded the 1st time I jumpered d6

John and Jamie Kime Mondays at the potato too. Jamie is one of my favorite guitarists I’ve seen live. I saw a Zappa plays Zappa vid with Dweezil and Vai trading - and Jamie was playing rhythm and i thought dang the best player onstage isnt even soloing lol

John is awesome. Took lessons from him for a while in LA - super duper friendly guy. I’m not sure if he’s still playing since his stroke. I certainly hope he still is able to.

I’m using the classic dunlop green .88 mm standard shape. I used the purple 1.14mm forever but finding I’m liking the .88mm better
