I completely disagree about Mindcrime! I love the guitar tones on that. There are plenty of reasons not to like CC, but I don't think his tone is one of them. I loved Paul's tone in Racer X, but never liked it in Mr. Big. GnR tones were always wonderful. I didn't care for Maiden's guitar tones...

How's the built-in reverb? I've wanted to try one ever since I read his book Relentless! Does it clean up at all? You mentioned that it wasn't good for low volumes, so those built-in power scaling features don't do a very good job? How about the gate? Any good?

Let me ask this to confuse matters; I don't have any tone knobs on my guitar. Only a volume knob. I've found some bridge humbuckers to be too bright. I changed to a 250K pot and that sounds pretty good to me. I'm more concerned about my tone with the volume on full, than when I lower the volume...
