I jump the parallel loop on my RM4 and dime the loop level.
Everything just sounds bigger and thicker. It does drive the master output
level up so I adjust it accordingly. Every now and then
I'll turn the mix down or even remove the cable and turn up
the master output to see what it sounds like...
I do want to add that I'm ONLY playing in my home studio.
So I don't have any long cable runs.
I'm also only using the clean boost in the front to overdrive
my preamp.
The TC Nova System has a post boost I can use for an actual
volume boost for solos. (Not that I really need it in the studio.)...
Thanks for all of the input folks!
I removed the TC Nova System from the series loop
and instead go from the preamp out to the TC to the power amp.
This actually sounds much better.
I'm thinking of getting 2 of these guys:

One to bypass my...
I've been doing a lot of experimenting over the last year. Pickups, modules, Speaker cabs, clean boost pedals and FX. My rig sounds best when I plug directly in to my preamp and have nothing connected to my FX loop. I do jump the parallel loop and set the mix at full. It sounds wonderful. But...
Obviously it sounds great, but I use this pedal because it is the only one that I know of that "automatically" turns itself off
when you stop moving it.
I've always had a hard time turning my wah pedals on and off properly.
This works great for me and I've never had any trouble with them,
so...
I feel the same way. Although Oni isn't a new singer!
I love his voice and I love George but I just don't hear anything that
interests me here. Sweet & Lynch was the best thing I've heard from
George in a long time.
ME! KISS Alive II was my first album purchase at 7 years old. My mom took me to see them at the Forum in LA for my birthday in '78. Ironically I think Detroit Rock City is the only Kiss song I know. :dunno:
I got a black Yamaha SGB-200 for Christmas when I was 13. Gorilla practice amp...
THANK YOU!!!!!
I will play around with the raw files.
Just listening through my $99 Altec computer speakers, the power amp track sound MUCH better!
I think the difference is well worth the upgrade price.
Again, thank you so much for doing this.
Are there any clips of the same tracks being recorded with the CAB from the preamp and the LIVE being recorded from the poweramp? I have a CAB now and I'm considering upgrading.
Looks like he might have broken a string last week and thew a potted plant at the wall in frustration!
Simply beautiful playing!
I'm throwing all my guitars in the trash now.
Shy of Eruption, I think Beat It is my favorite VH solo!
Here's a handful of my favorite solos:
Vai-Ladies' night in Buffalo
Page-Stairway to heaven
Kiss-Detroit rock city
Paul Gilbert-Daddy, brother, lover, little boy
Randy Roads-Over the mountain
Brain May-Killer Queen
David...
I never had a chance to try one of these back in the day and I found a great deal on Ebay. It should be here no later than next Monday. I look forward to having some fun with it. Anyone else have one of these? Thoughts?
Have any of you been able to compare the Torpedo Live to the C.A.B?
I've been thinking of upgrading either with a Suhr Reactive Load before
the C.A.B or simply getting the Live box and replacing the C.A.B.
Don't get me wrong, I like the EP.
My biggest problem is that it changes your tone too
much when it is bypassed.
The MK.4.23 does also add some sparkle and warmth to your sound
when it is on, but the bypassed tone is as close to transparent as I've heard.
I think the MK.4.23 is just a better...
WOW!
That tone is perfect!!
My favorite song off of that album too.
Great playing!
I love how VH changed that song up on the solo
section for Live without a Net.
