It seems like the Creation Audio Labs MK.4.23 Boost pedal
is well known around here. I came across it in some older posts.
I'd never heard of it before. It just arrived today and I couldn't be
happier! THIS is what I'd been looking for. I can hardly hear a difference
between the bypassed pedal...
I ordered a nickel set with a 53mm bridge.
I should have them in about 2 weeks.

These will replace my Suhr Thornbuckers.
Those just did not work for me at all.
The output was too low, they were bland
sounding and the coil tap split tone was useless.
I'm letting the Empress ParaEQ with boost go too.
It's on Ebay for $199 shipped.
I'm giving up on boosts for a bit while I pick up
a Suhr Reactive Load for my recording rig.
I've been playing the Empress ParaEQ for a few hours now.
I think I might stick with this one for a while.
It's by far the most transparent of all the pedals I've tried so far.
The EQ really let's you sculpt your tone and it's a good boost too.
It feels and sounds very natural. The Suhr is a bit...
People apparently were asking for a smaller footprint
and they feel they improved the midrange frequency
selections. It replaces the original.
Mine is sold by the way.
The Empress ParaEQ should be here Thursday.
I also finally received my Suhr Thornbuckers today.
I can't wait to get them...
I've decided that I want to try the Empress ParaEQ Boost.
The Koko is on Ebay for $169 if anyone needs one.
The Suhr may ultimately be the winner.
If so, I'll just buy it again.
I just don't have the coin to keep them all while
I make my decision.
Thank you.
Honestly, I'd much rather we all help eachother
on this tone journey and collaborate rather than
have a pissing contest. Recording with IRs is still pretty
new to me. I learn more every time I do it.
Ownhammer IRs are getting better and better with every release
IMHO. Some new...
Rez,
I was offering an opinion and not talking shit.
I don't read these forums every hour of every day
as I have a life, so sorry about the "crickets."
I thought your clip sounded fine.
Here's a couple of mine:

More gain!
I know, I have my levels at 9 O'Clock!
I guess that feature is for guys who play Twins
but want it to sound like a Recto?
It would be great to have both versions of the pedal
to compare.
It's pretty damned cool.
I started out with an Xotic EP Booster which I really liked.
Then I got a Blackstar HT-Boost. Once I got an EH-12AX7 in there
I liked it quite a bit too. But for me the tube just smoothed things
out a bit too much. So I sold them both for the Suhr.
So far I...
To each their own, but I completely disagree.
I find the Ownhammer IRs to sound MUCH better!!!
While it's true that the Two Notes IRs allow you to
make changes more easily, ease of manipulation
is useless if the results don't match up. Rather than
spending time changing mics and locations I...
Furman is the way to go.

They do a great job of explaining everything.
I use the Furman PL-8C.
