Not overkill, it's a pain in the ass switching, especially if you have a lot of amps. Cant help on what to get as I only have a few amps and an ABY but I would say buy one, why not?

Maybe you do, I'm pretty sure I do and every time I dial in an amp I scale back the treble for sure and sometimes the mids depending on the amp. I will say though what version of the 75s? I know the older ones sound much different than the current models.
