how I've practiced in the past and still do is to simply play along with bands/songs and learn their compositions, riffs, solos, etc.
try to get into areas where you are not comfortable as much like odd time signatures and multiple styles in one song (e.g. checkout Mr. Bungle). also...
just be careful what you practice. I've noticed over the years (I've been playing 20 years) that what I practice is ultimately what I'll play in a live or recorded setting as well when it comes to improvisation or soloing. using a metronome is a good idea for keeping time and speeding up...
interesting name for a band, somewhat "unpoppy" and kinda what I do to my daughter for timeouts in her bedroom.
that song was ok too for a poppy radio tune. another interesting name for the song....
100 watts, i'm using a ported 212 genz benz cab but i've ran it with a 412 mesa half open-back cab and that is completely way too loud with a decent tone...
So I am satisfied with the ch 1 clean mode (snappy/poppy) and lead sounds and the Einstein. Still think this amp is horribly loud into even a 212 in studio rehearsal room (approx. 20x20ft). I mean in ch 2 I don't even get the master past 9 o'clock with all other controls at noon. So next time...
I was never a fan of 6L6 (but I have never tried those in a Diezel). They seem to be good for low-end and highs. Don't seem to cut thru (mids) as well as EL34's. I have tried KT77's and they were like a hybrid b/n EL34 and 6L6. I always use JJ E34L's if I can but the Ruby EL34's in my...
Ok so I ran the Einstein with the gflex 212 (ported) today at the studio. The main difference this time was I set the volume knobs on both channels to 10 (max). Master 1 was between 1-1.5 (below 9 o'clock) I'm guessing. Gain at 2 o'clock on ch 2 and max on ch 1. everything else pretty much...
Your lead playing was absolutely sick in the beginning of that clip. overall tone is pretty damn good. i love LP's that's what I use.
So were you tapping for those fast lead runs? couldn't quite tell.
stiletto amps suck. sorry, they're good for leads but no bass. no balls. i'm not...
I used a TSL 100 head with a marshall 412 cab for about a year in a hard rock band. Usually run JJE34L's so most likely that's what i had in there. Guitar had EMG's was a totally sick hard rock setup. No issues except for the footswitch. Not my favorite amp but the bandmates loved the...
yesterday I was using an old school mesa half open-back (ms12 loaded 150 watt) speaker cab. i've used a gflex 212 (like V30's) and pretty much similar results. I checked bias and one pair was a little low.
anyways, i'm giving the einstein another try, the ts808 it likes it with the settings different (left around noon and right around noon, usually for rivera and marshall I set it as a clean boost: left = 0 and right = max). pretty nice touch sensitivity even at home volumes.
Ok Fairfax, Sterling, Annandale kinda guy (I used to live in Herndon and Sterling and Fairfax).
You're right, but it's waaaaaay easier than Axe FX. that's for sure....
I'm not technical and haven't looked at the schematic for the Einstein but I was messing around with ch 1 (modes 1 & 2 [clean & texas]) last nite. I turned the gain and volume knobs to max and the master volume around 0.5 or 1 out of 10 (in the house). This amp does not seem to have the same...
Does anybody know if Mesa made the metal grille 2x12 cabs? I'm looking for the MS-12 speakers (rated at 150 watts) as it sounds good in my 412 but it's too loud.
