My S120 head I turn up to 3/10 at the studio. That's already satanic loud trust me (at least with newer tubes and my tubes are 3 years old now).
Riveras are supposed to have high gain with tonal definition so you can play and hear jazz chords with loud gain volumes. They are very good deals...
this the real shit (ghetto); i was there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAkSY3sap44
watch the whole thing it's very entertaining...
he has these female backup singers on the latest tour.
WTF?
btw, what amps did they use?
I just deliberated roadster vs. einstein and einstein won (great ebay deal!)
I just saw helmet live and they use Fryette Pitbull. kicked ass hardcore. it does bark, but growling seems more intimidating. also heard that VHT's (Fryette's) are less forgiving so you have to play/execute much...
Got the amp yesterday. Sounds great at low volumes in channel 1 (played thru with the Ibanez AS153 only so far). Tried only at home volumes so far. Series and parallel loops are better sounding than my marhsall or rivera afaict.
In fact, with Ruby EL34's this amp has one of the nicest clean...
"Channel 2 is indeed depended on channel 1. For example the sound changes depending which mode channel 1 is set in. I don't know what diezel was thinking, if it was an omition or even a necessity. It just ruins it for me!"

was that eurotubes? i had seen similar but I just talked to a Diezel tech in North Hollywood and he said using the external points is the correct way. On the Diezel website it says to use bias rite.
What is the recommended power tubes for this Einstein amp nowadays? I myself prefer JJ E34L's, is that possible? In a 100 watt head, can I do 2 JJ E34L's and 2 SED =C= EL34s?
My AS153 is fine, i've been playing it everyday for a couple weeks now. No issues. If you purchase one and don't like it return it to Sweetwater for a refund or replacement.
Hi Peter, I will try my Marshall double footswitch. I'm guessing the EFX loop can't be switched?
btw, where would I take my amp for service in Los Angeles?
forgot to mention that you can play literally any style of music with the AS153: country, jazz, blues, rock, hard rock, metal. I was jamming along with Dream Theater Images & Words last nite, very cool.
I just bought a AS153 (factory 2nd, not sure what the issue is/was). Awesome guitar, MIC. There is some fret buzz on mine but seems to only happen or be noticeable unplugged. Very beautiful and pleasure to play. In fact, I use it more now than my Epi Elitist LP. The tri-tone neck pup switch...
