My DR really is a fantastic amp and is usually what I'm playing on 90% of the time. It just doesn't get much better than a Strat neck pickup and the DR turned up to 5.5 or 6 with a little bit of reverb.
Did a quick Youtube search and they really do sound impressive. My concern is that it's a 1x12, just like my DR. Not sure it would have the punchiness or increased low-end tightness I'm looking to get with 10's. I certainly am not going to rule it out because I plan on playing as many amps as...
I didn't even know these amps existed. I honestly have never heard if them, but people certainly seem to like them based on the quick research I did. What are the chances I will ever run across one?
The DR's are actually 1x12's :) . I've contemplated the 4x10 cab idea, but my thinking was that if I grabbed say a Super (just as an example) I would get the bump up in headroom I'm looking for, plus I could use it as a 4x10 cab if I wanted to experiment with my other amps. Also, it would help...
My DR has been blackfaced. I played it stock for a while and it sounded great but decided to blackface it and I don't regret it. Not a night and day difference by any means, but I feel like it sweetened up the highs a bit and gave it a more pleasant overdriven tone when pushed. It really is a...
I can honestly say I've never even thought about anything out of the Brown/Blonde era. I don't know why. Looks like they are in my price range according to the Fender Amp Field Guide. They seem to be fairly rare, but like I said, I'm not in a rush. Really I just want to find the right amp at...
The question is which one? I love my '71 Deluxe Reverb and don't plan on parting ways with it. That said, I'd like my next Fender to have a little more clean headroom and a tighter low end. Also must take pedals well.
I'm looking at the following:
Super Reverb - I've never played one...
Never had any of luck out in front of a distorted amp with a digital delay (haven't tried it with an analog). My DD-3 works nicely in front only when running a clean amp+pedals and the delay after the OD pedals in the chain.
I certainly can't knock the guy's talent, but I never really got into his playing. I'm all for innovation, but just because something's different doesn't make it good.
Plus he's a Cubs fan :bleh:
I always liked my 5150 combo. Nice and aggressive as expected from a 5150. The only problem is that they weigh in at about 90 lbs if I remember correctly.
That's what I was thinking. I don't know what the price for one of these handwired amps would be if it were made in the UK, but I can't imagine it would be any less than double the price.
Specifically the AC15C1 and AC30C2 - anybody own one? The demos sound pretty good and they are pretty cheap - $599 for the AC15 and $999 for the AC30.
Just wondering if anybody owns one and has any thoughts to share.
