When I was learning, I thought the Ibanez RG's were the best; I could be more expressive and play subtle nuances better with their tremelos versus a Floyd. I still like their trems, similar to a Kahler. Now I like the PRS even though they sound darker and less aggressive to me.
I think the cheaper models(greenback/ vintage 30) made late in 2007 are Made in China, the upper end models are still made in England. I've seen some stickers on the side of the magnet that states "Made in China".
Besides Les Paul's and PRS's that I like with rosewood, maple is my favorite strat scale neck. I have a few mutt guitars and they're all maple necks. I once had a maple/curly neck on a hard rock maple/ curly top strat with a floyd and a Distortion that was pretty bright(it could probably...
Hmmm..... you should keep the first one and sell the second one to me!
Never bought same models at the same time, I usually play one in the store(they all sound good in the store), bring it home and either trade it back or sell it for a similar model. I did that a few times with the PRS until...
You can buy this or everyone can send me a buck via paypal. ;)

When my dad went to GIT in the 80's, he called someone about a Jackson that was owned by Steve Lynch of Autograph(that zig zag black and yellow guitar on the front). Well, the guy called back and it was Steve Lynch, he was...
Anyone else had problems with a tube(s) going out on their new amp? I called and emailed a few times but didn't receive any response and got lucky on a call one time. I was told that even new tubes go out all the time and to go buy new ones. Pretty crappy customer service since I just dropped...
That's too bad, there are so many company's that try to save a buck by doing everything themselves, including customer service. If you don't have the patience to deal with the public to sell your wares, at least invest in a good salesperson to represent your company. There is too much...
Lots of Modded Marshalls and Fenders in LA. Lee Jackson(Metaltronix) did a bunch of Marshalls and Fenders, he added his 5 way mid switch to them. Jose Arredondo, for those trying to get VH's sound, I think even Soldano got his start out there modding amps.
My dad stored a bunch of these old...
The revision is printed on the circuit board inside the amp, if you remove the chasis from the head shell you'll see the printed revision near the big blue caps. Don't touch the caps without discharging them or they'll discharge on you and could kill you. Look, don't touch.
I have a very early Rev F. It doesn't sound like the later versions to me as I think those versions attenuate the highs. When I bought it used it had an unusual preamp brand tube configuration which I replaced with all gold pin Groove Tubes. While it still sounds very good, it lost that tone it...
Ok, let's say you just won the lotto and you can buy one amp and guitar for each genre of music. What's your list? Also, what would you get if you had one rig to do it all?
I would get.
Metal: Diezel VH4 /Diezel cab/PRS Custom 24
Rock: Friedman BE100 / Hiwatt cab/Les Paul R9 w WRCs
Blues...
D-Sonic, X2N, Evo, Invader. Just never got into the higher gain pickups through my older amps (HiWatt, Marshall metal panel), the D-sonic just sounds flat to me.
I'm liking lower gain pickups like the Gibson Burstbucker 1 and 2 through my BE100. An 80's JB and a Screamin Demon bridge in the...
