Sounds like a lot of work will go into these. I don't see Paul Reed Smith getting his hands dirty with his private stock guitars.
No question these guitars will be exceptionally well made. Are these going to go through the plek machine at all or is all the fret work going to be done by hand?
Quite clever marketing by Ibanez I think. I think Suhr benefited hugely from having so many amazing guitar players playing Suhr on YT. Quayle, Rick Graham, Miller etc. We probably get more up-close exposure to guitar products on YT than we do with major performing artists. Oh the times they...
I agree. It was a really well made guitar, but was only good for certain styles. Played great & even sounded decent unplugged, but it had this overly bright sound to it that couldn't be dialed out. I'm not sure what the 11 ply neck through construction added to the guitar's sound. Probably more...
Those classic electric guitar tones are synonymous with the guitars of those eras I think & why strats, teles & les pauls continue to stand the test of time. I think generally, the simpler something is & the less extreme something is, the more musical & dynamic it tends to be.

Totally. I found the two episodes with John Suhr & Pete Thorn superb. Loads of amazing stories and a great insight into the industry & its evolution from some of its most influential protagonists.
I just trawled through that thread. :aww: One of the best things about the show is how candid it is. Be a shame if that dynamic changes over the forthcoming episodes.
Some interesting discussion about Mesa in the video. I've not quite finished watching it yet mind. Our resident 'Rocky Star' got a mention.
Looks like i'm a bit late to the party posting the link. :aww: I'll crawl back under my rock.
Thanks to the member who pointed me towards this channel a few weeks back. It's fast become one of my favorite YT channels. Latest episode is really cool.

I haven't bought new for quite some time now. There are so many amazing guitars & deals out there. People generally look after premium gear as well so any cosmetic damage is usually pretty minor.
I think it's interesting that the larger guitar companies have a continuous demand to build new...
I liked Mailman as well. I PM'd him recently about that Marshall thread when I couldn't find it the next morning, and was surprised not to get a reply.
