I'm rocking a Roadhouse 30 Combo at the moment. It's not one of their point to point amps, but it sounds great & i'm having a lot of fun with it.
Think Anderton's bought Cornford's stock when they shut up shop so I suspect it came from there.
The Suhr satin guitars are excellent for sure. I think there's a video on YT that shows the comparison between a satin & custom modern (mahogany body & neck of course) and there's relatively unnoticeable difference in sound from the two guitars. It's a pretty cool advert for their satin guitars.
Owned the custom modern in my avatar. Moment of madness letting her go. Had a few high end guitars in the interim & have ended up with a Suhr Pro Tele. It plays & sounds so awesome. Suhr seem to get all the basic ingredients right.
Ditched a VH4 for an Axe-FX. Sold the AxeFX to buy an Einstein. Sold the Einstein to buy another VH4 and vowed never to make that mistake again.
Bought a house recently and with a daughter & another on the way, felt it was time to say farewell to my VH4. :(
Looks absolutely devastating. It's really humbling actually. Reminds me how much we take things for granted. Huge respect for everyone chipping in to help.
I have so much contempt for the courier industry. Been let down so many times. Populated by people who's god given abilities are limited to being able to drive a fucking van. An industry that crumbles to ash the moment some cretinous fuckwit absentmindedly sticks the wrong label on the wrong...
Good score. Cool amp with loads of great features. Been wanting one for a while. Seriously expensive this side of the pond unfortunately and with a kid and another on the way, difficult to justify to the missus!
I think people get really bogged down with multiple string sweep arpeggios. Almost as though they are the pinnacle of guitar virtuosity. It takes a fair amount of practice to get them clean and up to speed and they're impractical and virtually unusable.
That said, they command a lot of control...
Agree. There are a few videos online that make the VH4 sound terrible. Really direct mic setup, recording an amp that, on its own, is absolutely dry and unforgiving. I can see why people give it a hard time and double take at the price tag. That premier guitar demo of the VH4 is especially...
My only gripe about the Modern shape is the cutaway. For a 24 fret guitar, the cutaway could be better shaped to give you optimum upper fret access. That's the only aspect I think other 24 fret guitars (PRS, JP, Vigier, Mayo etc) have the edge.
Now i've had the opportunity to try out a...
Somebody offered me one of these as a swap for my Regius. I was really tempted, but the lack of tone knob put me off. I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on it.
