Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

All mine were on the speaker jacks when I got them decades ago. It was easy to tell they were originally that way. Like I said, nevrr seen a ‘69 that wasn’t that way. Not that I have seen them all by any means, but quite alot. I think that is a later thing. After reading about the...

Vintage Marshall Super Lead identification help

I don’t think this is correct. Both my ‘69’s (one is early plexi and one is later metal panel) and both have the nfb hooked to the speaker jacks. All the 69’s I have come across have been the same. They must have started that later. 70 perhaps.

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

Yes. It was the two original 150uf and they were in series. Don’t remember what they measured. I replaced them with two F+T 100uf in series, all I could find. Would like to find something closer sometime, but it is working for now.

I have some LCR’s 100/100’s. Bought a long time ago. Reformed them before putting those in. They look goofy though, twice as tall as the 50/50. I have not noticed anything different, little tighter bottom end. What else do you think it would affect? Also have some JJ 100/100 I tried...

I like 100/ 100 for mains..50/50 for the rest. Sometimes 32/32 for the preamps but not often.

    Tweaking Super Lead specs

I put my 5k’s back in try them again recently. Yuk, kills all the chunk and replaces it with thwack. Most of mine have the .68 over the 820 except for the 67. They all had the 5k. Sure the volume can be set high to get around it, but then turning the guitar down for cleans it gets super...

Special-edition MXR Randy Rhoads Distortion+ Pedal (NOT a limited edition)

Will have to rewatch the video again, but sure thought it said wah first. Dist + EQ Flange Chorus an volume. Schenker used his wah as a filter, probably others as well. Not many options back then. In 89 or 90 I stumbled on it trying to get the Loudness tones. Wah in the middle range into...

That 5K bright cap, ugh freaking terrible sounding. All high mid thwack thwack thwack on the low strings. Can’t stand that sound. Sure if you play on ten and don’t have to hear the cap. 100 pf gives the gain and round low end for palm mutes. None of that thwackin shit.

    Anyone good at Tonex captures?

Looking forward to trying the new software. I have done about 20 captures with the old software. Capturing the amp only is pretty easy. With a cab has been more trial and error still.

    LP neck 'bucker of choice

Email Duncan, Dimarzio and Fralin..ask them for recommendations. Duncan and Dimarzio have exchange policies. Fralin has really good vintage style pickups.
