I like the cab clone IR . Which is probably close to captor x in price.
The bare bones cab clone is not in same ballpark in terms of features and usefulness.
The Captor X is a very very useful tool. Amazing for recording.
If price is close, I'd do the Captor X.
If it is strictly for headphone function, either will work well.
It actually is an awesome amp.
I had a 1x12 combo and it weighed about a ton. Also the master volume went from whisper quiet to rip your head off loud in a hair width of travel.
It is by far the most massive sounding and loudest 1 x12 amp I ever owned.
Perhaps I should revisit it.
The Electradyne is a British targeted amp as well, and, yup, not a big financial success either.
I owned the Electradyne and the Royal Atlantic, and they are really good amps, but, the Badlander absolutely is a much better sounding amp imho.
I don't have all the answers.
I wasn't going to respond, because I have had it with this nonsense......(.and yes, I have been a party to it); but you seem like a decent person, I certainly respect your career.
I am not posting here (OTC) going forward.
I think allowing people to have many...
Mesa actually gives you 4 felt pads to put under the feet for stacking. But, they are slippery adding to my fear of pulling a head off and crashing it to the floor.
I might just try some leather or suede to use as pads.
I try and avoid doing this, and usually just buy a 4x12 for the heads to sit on, but lately I am running out of room.
Paranoid that the top head will take a fall, or that it will mess up the tolex of the head under it?
