To answer the question though: All guitars are too expensive, but the dollar is a lot weaker these days.
A Gibson Les Paul Custom in 2002 was between $2350 and $2500. Today, that should be $4225 to $4500. Gibson wants $5500 today.
PRS was kind of in the same ballpark as far as pricing back...
I never got to play any of the Vettas. I like tinkering around with all of that digital stuff. I've avoided the AxeFx stuff because I would get stuck in tweaking limbo. It's fun though!
Dino from Fear Factory used that setup after his Marshall was stolen back in the day. I always liked the SLO model on that first expensive Line 6 combo. Something about it just tickled me the right way. I had that Johnson Millennium 2x12 combo around '99. It had a few cool sounds in it...
Yep! Basically, the preamp circuit will be voiced a certain way where there is a cutoff frequency for each amplification stage. There could be steep shelving at a particular frequency that isn't pleasing to someone's ear. This can be adjusted, but the end result may not be all that great...
As many as the shareholders that own Gibson/Mesa want for them to line their pockets with money. If they can sort out a ground loop and actually design the amp correctly, well, that remains to be seen. LOL
My dad had a nice "honey hole" for them at Toledo Bend just off the dock where he would go down there for a few hours in the morning and catch about 25 or so in about 2 hours while he shot the shit with all of the other retirees he had met down there. After they drew down the lake to work on...
If she survived with her digits or hand (if it was big enough) still attached, she is all right. Snapping turtles are all over the place down here. We have more alligators than Florida too. Throw in cottonmouth snakes in the water, and it's a beautiful stew!
I was just watching where some Canadians and an Aussie went to Alabama to try to go noodling, but they wound up not being able to get anything. The guy the took them was upset with himself afterward. There are too many alligators and snapping turtles down here for me to ever want to try doing that!
I've been better, but I'm still alive. That's all that matters at the end of the day. I haven't really told anyone here, but I've been dealing with a cancer thing where my bone marrow makes too many red blood cells. I have to go give blood fairly often to thwart off a possible stroke.
I went off the deep end and started watching some dude Catfishing the Catfishers on dating apps. Between that and Brad's Guitar Garage, that has pretty much been my night.
