I've been playing the guitar for what seems like forever at this point, but growing up my parents never allowed me to have more than one 1-2 guitars and my DS-1 served me well until I got an MT-2 lol. And in my 20s and 30s, I simply had other priorities. So now, finally in my 40s, I'm able to...
I've heard horror stories like this, but it's never been my experience.
I assume you used their bump feature, which is why the fees are so high. They make you opt out of this before publishing your listing. If you don't opt out, it's an additional 4.5% to them, I believe.

Don't think it can really innovate if it's only learning from known data. I could be wrong and i don't wanna do any more research. I think the point I'm trying to make is that its input, its dataset will always be limited. And its output will be based on the dataset used, so I'm not sure it can...
You're not wrong. I was still impressed with what it spat out. I kind of expected some half-assed bullshit that wasn't even close to death metal. But I guess udio's input data is good enough to be able to output good enough generic stuff.
When I wrote a research paper last summer about AI use in the music industry, I tested some of the AI tools. I used the following prompt in Udio, "death metal song about unicorns. fast double bass. palm mutes."
Below are the two outputs.
