Never seen one of those amps before, but that looks really cool!
If the gear sending the midi commands has an "omni" mode, or all channels, try that, and also try program change 100, 101, 102 etc...
If I recall, the Diezel vh4 pc messages for channel switching are in the 100's.
Maybe George is...
Not sure what tube mic you're using, but the box that the mic connects to with the 7 pin connector is the power supply for the mic, not a preamp. The 3 pin connector coming out of that box is the raw mic signal. Put the pad here between the power supply and the interface/preamp.
The reason for...
Amp sounds :rawk:
First time I've seen those big-ass Solen coupling caps in a Marshall build.
What did you like about those caps in the og 2203 build vs the usual suspects ? ( Synergy / Sozo etc..)
Mojotone vintage taper CTS pots.
They consistently measure close to the rated value and seem to last pretty well.
I keep a stash of short and long 250k and 500k and change out all the electronics in any guitar I buy unless its a vintage piece.
Oh my, that looks awesome.
I've been after a "super strat" style guitar for a while, but whenever I stop into the local big box retailer and play the Fender offerings, I'm never feelin it.
Necks are too thin and the frets are too small.
Looking at the back of the neck in those pics, it...
Grounding the green/white junction as shown in the diagram with the push/pull pots will leave the screw coil active. Same for both neck and bridge pickups.
Tried a lot of fuzz over the years.
This is what has hung around.
The 69 = fuzz face
The Arcane = Tone Bender
The Thorpy = Triangle Muff
The Boss Waza = ? but I like how it sounds
Oh man, whats that Arcane Analog pedal?
I got him to make me an mk1 Tone bender, with all nos parts and a bias pot on top along with the vol and fuzz controls. Its the best fuzz I've ever heard. Had it for forever.
And cool feature: the bias pot turned all the way counter clockwise has a switch...
Oh, man! This is cool af!
Huge CoC / Down / Pepper fan.
Cool story:
Around 2008 -2009 CoC was on tour with Motorhead up here in Canada. Saturday was Winnipeg, and Monday they were in Toronto.
So totally under the radar, the CoC guys decide to stop in London Ontario on Sunday night and do a show...
Only issue I've ever heard of ( and have seen and repaired ) is guys sticking El34's in the OG EVH 6l6 100watter, and melting the traces around the fuse holders for the heater circuit. That is not the amps fault.
The EVH line is solid. Don't do anything dumb, and you shouldn't have any issues.
Thanks. I have an older voodoo lab pedal power x4, and was looking at buying the appropriate cable, but I think I'm going to upgrade to a Cioks DC7 supply, as I could also use a 15v center positive connection, and the Cioks will do pretty much anything, and comes with all the cables.
Yeah, that sounds great!
I've got a brand new one sitting here in a box, but I don't have anything to power it with.
Pedal does not ship with a power supply.
None of my power supplies will do 18v / 250ma without a voltage doubling cable, which i don't seem to have on hand.
I need to get on...
Interesting, I hadn't heard about this.
I had an idea to build myself a single ended JCM800 style amp with a 6v6 for low volume home use, but I just checked my local big box retailer, and I can't buy the parts for that build anywhere close to what these go for new.
I'm going to try to demo one...
I have one from very early in the first run in 2015.
Really ready good sounding amp, and has hung around here a long time, but there are some things to consider.
The early ones had an issue with the presence pot that Marshall refused to even acknowledge.
The pots failed at an alarming rate...
