PRS Custom 22 - your experience?

Not a bad price, if in good condition, plus taking in to account how much PRS's normally are in Australia. Custom 22's are solid, although I prefer its relative, the McCarty. The 2008 model would also have Dragon 2 pickups in it, which are 12k ish A4 mag pickups. PRS's from that era are built...

Synergy vs real deal - Fryette Deliverance

Well said! I would ask, how much does the feel of the Fryette matter to you? Fryette amps do have a particular feel and response and if you really love that, you will 100% miss it if you sell (I know I did years ago when I sold my first pittbull ultra lead).

    It's almost 2025, who's using Diezel?

I have had a love/hate relationship with the Diezel stuff over the years. They have a very unique tonal signature and feel. Unique enough I often miss it when I don't have a Diezel, but when I have had one, they have never been my "go to" amp. If I were grabbing one today, it would be a new...

Lichtlaerm prometheus- any thoughts or folks whove played it?

I think you did a really great job at describing it! Modern + good feel + all those well thought out features is a win. Might have to put my name down on one.... Have you tried the 4x12 with other amps? How are you digging that?

Lichtlaerm prometheus- any thoughts or folks whove played it?

Curious about these as well. I have chatted a bit with Joel at Northerner Guitars about them and he loves it! Problem is, they sell immediately when they come in, so tough to get a chance to sit down with one.

Tell me about the Mesa Mark IV

Agree with all of this! You can easily dial in tones on either mkiv version that are great combination of punch, dynamics, clarity and saturation/ compression. That is one of the great things about the mkiv, you can really find that sweet spot! Ya, compared to the mkiii range they are little...

Mark 2c+ this vid sounds good

100% agree!! And I would even argue, that while all the older Marks I have played (my mkiv, mkiii's) all have sole semblance of that and feel good to play....playing a real deal 2C+ is different. So it is even kind of unique among the Mark series. I have only played an HRG...but it only took...

    Bogner Ecstacy History

I had a Helios 100 at the same time as my Ecstasy 101b. Ended up keeping the Ecstasy. I pretty well stuck to 70's mode on the Helios and I found that the Ecstasy blue channel, dialed proper could get me close enough. That 5-10% difference I found was the Ecstasy always had a bit more chew/give...

Tell me about the Mesa Mark IV

I have never played the vii, but I absolutely love the mkiv! The lead channel has a great combination of saturation, punch and give that feels great to play, but stays tight and aggressive. With the push/pull options, 2 gain controls and graphic eq you can really fine tune the response. Agree...

Please tell me about the Friedman SS v2

Owned the V2. I was expecting/hoping it would be more open, aggressive and raw compared to the 2017 BE 100 I owned, but it wasn't really. I would still call it a very smooth and polished amp.....which is not a good/bad thing. Pretty easy to dial in, very easy to play and can get very saturated...

    NAD: Bogner Snorkler 50

Same with me. I will certainly say it was a super tight, aggressive and punchy modern metal beast. But gone, in my opinion, were most of the elements that made me love the older Ubers and Bogners in general.

Wizard guys, differences in MC vs MCII vs MTL?

Both the MCII and MTL mk2 are very versatile. As said, the MTL, with use of the sweep knob, presence and bright knobs can definitely get in to MC territory, but also has more total gain on tap and more low end extension. The contour knob on the MCII allows you to make it a bit darker and...

Mesa Mark IIC - upgrade to +? UPDATED

This right here! Can also confirm Mesa is doing headshells again. Just got a new one for my mkiv.

    The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

You still have a couple III's, right? I am going to take the plunge, what the hell. I love Marks and I am curious about these. I understand the skepticism, but I have a positive feeling.

    Rock Standard Review

Ordered this a few months ago after a helpful discussion with @WizardSouth-JP I have had enough time behind it now, that I can give a review. Even though I feel the MC's, MTL's and Hellrazor's will always be the popular Wizard order and most discussed, hopefully this sheds some light on this...

    The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

Agree with everything here, man! If this turns out to be a very faithful recreation tone and feel wise of a 2C+, everybody does win. For the collectors: no need to lose sleep, your OG amps will still be vintage, rare and worth big money. Just look at other reissued amps by other manufacturers...

    The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

100% agree on this. I am picky with an amps feel and I knew within about 5 seconds I loved the feel of the 2C+ I played. I don't know if I have ever played another amp that combined that level of give/bounce under the fingers with being that tight and immediate.

    The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

That is certainly true. Have you tried any modern tubes in your Mesa's? I suppose with a supply of NOS tubes, you don't have to, but curious if you have just to try. Keeping tonal response separate, I definitely think the vintage tubes were made to a higher standard. I have had plenty of brand...

    The IIC+reissue goes live Dec. 3rd. $3599

The thing is, if it is spec'd just like the original, with the same component values, I don't see how it can sound or feel THAT much different than an original. I had a chat with a good friend who is an electrical engineer and he always gets a good chuckle out of the whole "these capacitors and...

    Apparently there's a supposed rumour of a C+ reissue

Has there been confirmation on whether it will be a Rev F or G? I have seen people say both.
