It works as a booster but you def cannot crank the gain or it gets wooly and too much. Perfect companion with an 800 and passive pickups. But yeah, there are a zillion other boosts that do as good or better. It does compliment the Marshall drive nicely though. Feels enough like an extension of...
Yes good point and I see that now.. looking at some live pics of him and that neck is set way too deep and they didn't cut back the angle for him so he probably struggled a bit. Apparently the prototype that never made it to him featured in the article in this thread was that improvement. I am...
That's no fun Jer.. I want it to look and feel RR. Plus with our tariff war, I can only imagine what Warmoth will cost me in duties and potential tariffs on the lumber that isn't Canadian. That's right Canada... the home of HELIX and Honeymoon Suite!
the ebony board on the RR-3 def appeals to me. Not Japanese or American made but the feel of ebony fret boards feel like butter. I love themfor fast playing.
Makes sense and that is what I figured the reasoning behind that was. I have to say though, with the standard trem, I prefer the look of the Concorde to the Sandoval. Having an Edwards Schenker V, it just is not comfortable to play seated no matter how you position yourself.
They swivel 180' and are actually very solid. I decide the angle and how the guitars will display. I bought the STRICH wall mount for 10 guitars and because they come in sections that you snap together, you can sort of customize. So I have 7 on that wall and then will be putting 2 to 3 on...
Due to space constraints i just went off the ground with the strich guitar hangers. Seem pretty solid to me and now I can put amps and guitar cases under my guitars.
Now that's what im talking about. Killer. I just love the look of a standard trem and to be honest, the TONE too. There is a difference. I also find Floyd's bulky. I'm ok with strat trems needing a dive to reset. Plenty of good 2 point trems that are stable now too. What did you pay for that...
This is interesting.. the last set list he played hand written with which guitar he used for which song. Les Paul heavily featured and one of the Jacksons listed for a few tunes. Sandoval V has a 4 or 5 song run too.
I will defend my statements that the mod sounds very good. Marshall did it right here. Straight in, it's all I would need. But I will also say that for me in CAD, these amps are 5K+. I will never drop that kind of money on a simple circuit when I got my Bugera 1960 with the built in RR Cascade...
There seem to be quite a few diff models of the Jackson RR, are there any reasonable models that have the standard trem with straight bar like Randy would have used or is that all custom shop? The custom route on these seems crazy expensive. What do you guys know about them? The RR-3 with ebony...
That was a cool vid..never seen it before. Also surprised that the dots on the V are more creme colored vs white. I'm assuming that it is due to Nitro aging?
I love that the greedy fucks get to eat their wallets on this one as I never would have paid what I did if I knew these were in the works. I'm a bit annoyed also at MXR because I emailed them asking if they would just take this circuit and make it into a prod model and they said " maybe down the...
I think the " rough" settings have been documented and there are some pics of him in studio during blizzard and I remember more or lessbbeing able to make out the eq. Essentially the frown, tightening up that loose bass on the distortion + but keeping the bloom sound that circuit makes
