    Soldano X88 IR Inside

I would say that there is almost everything that you criticize about Engl amps :D

    Soldano X88 IR … I need this!

The price is more than favorable, considering the preamp is Handbuilt in the USA. Just hand soldering that many SMD components must take a hell of a lot of time. Just kidding :)

    Mark IV vs. Engl Fireball

I believe Artist was released in 2014. The question is from 2007 so your answer is irrelevant :)

Thinking about getting another 4x12 cab. Need opinions.

I have Marshall MF slanted equipped with G12EVH and it sounds great. However, once a guy came with Engl XXL and I was completely surprised, how fantastic it sounded. If it was not heavy as hell, I would buy it immediately.

I am surprised by the unpleasant amount of frying pan noise. Very noticeable i.e. around 1:10, 5:10.

Do I reallllllllly need Floyds on my guitars going forward?

Of my six guitars, three have Floyds. The remaining three are hardtails and are commonly referred to by people as the bass guitar.

SD Original Blackout (AHB-1) bridge humbucker & neck single coil (AS-1)

I tried the Duncan AHB-2B. I sold it right away. Annoying midrange, clucking like a flock of hens. Regarding to EMGs, I have a 57/66 set in my Charvel SoCal, running it at 18V and I am completely happy with them. EMG Retro Active Hot 70 I have in a bridge position of Schecter Sun Valley and...

The JCM900slx is the best Marshall ??

Oh no, I'm quite calm. I don't know why you assume everyone around you is pissed off. You obviously know shit about electronics. Do what you want, I'm explaining it here for the sake of the members you're misleading with your amazing ideas. Otherwise, I have nothing against you and I am still at...

The JCM900slx is the best Marshall ??

:) AKA how to complicate simple tasks. And you need an amplifier, a multimeter, a river and a herd of elephants.

The JCM900slx is the best Marshall ??

OK, I have a similar approach to lawn and insects, so I'll try again :) Briefly, a very simplified parallel to bias. Imagine that a quiet river flows through your property. The flow is steady. It represents quiescent current, bias. You take a meter and measure the water level without any...

The JCM900slx is the best Marshall ??

To clarify. It doesn't make sense to _measure_ the bias current through the power tubes if they under the signal (that is, the sound comes from the speaker). Bias current is a quiescent direct current (DC) and is measured without a signal, it sets the operating point of power tubes. If a signal...

The JCM900slx is the best Marshall ??

It has no sense to measure bias during riffing, even chunky riffing. Especially not with a digital multimeter.

    ? LENZ AMPLIFICATION ??

He is a member here, so maybe he will comment. Personally, I think it's a matter of demand and you can't make such small-batch products for free if you want to keep your business. @EddyLenz
