Fun Metallica cover armed with Explorers and Boogies

The EXP was a pandemic purchase. I bought it in the parking lot of a mall and when I got it the frets were totally shot. It got a full 6105 re-fret and now it's a ripper. Sounds great too.

Fun Metallica cover armed with Explorers and Boogies

It's quickly becoming mine as well. I had one years ago and sold it, but I got this one in trade about a year ago and it's been getting a lot of use. Set the right way, it'll do some killer rock tones through Greenbacks.

Fun Metallica cover armed with Explorers and Boogies

I almost edited in a third foot and wah, but I figured that would be too much :) Thanks for the kind words! The rhythm guitars were just my 2 dot Japanese EXP-200 into a Mark IVb into a Suhr Reactive Load with IR's of a 4x12 with V30's.

Fun Metallica cover armed with Explorers and Boogies

My friend asked me to play guitar on this 'Wherever I May Roam Cover', and since I never get an opportunity to play my Explorer on anything, I jumped at it. All of the guitars are a Mark IV. Straight in for the rhythm tracks and boosted with an 808 for the solo. The multiple wahs were of...

    Eras of Marshall Vintage Cabs?

I have a few Greenback loaded 4x12's an early 2000's Mesa Recto 4x12, but I'm on the hunt for a Marshall 1960B cab loaded with their G12 Vintage speakers. Everyone always talks about the Marshall cabs from the 80's, but are there any other years for those speakers that tend to be well regarded...

    Thanks for checking it out!

New Guitar Week - Another Suhr in the Stable

That looks great! I swear those guitars are like potato chips. It's almost impossible to just have one.

    You got compressor?

I have a Suhr Woodshed and love it. Small footprint and does everything that I want it to.

Any of you guys near the Hudson Valley in NY? Need a cap job.

I have a Splawn that needs new caps, and I was curious if any of you could recommend a good tech in or around the Hudson Valley NY area.

I recorded an instrumental track. Filmed a video. Used Suhr/Friedman/Wizard.

A minute or so after I read your comment, I saw this quote and thought it was fitting. "I've realized that whatever you do and whatever you're passionate about, be passionate about it for its own sake. Don't be passionate about it for the sake of potential fame or riches or acclaim. Don't be...

    That sounded great!

Thanks! The 'verse' lead guitars were a BE-100, the heavy stuff was a Wizard Modern Classic and the clean guitars were a PT-100 on one side and a BE-100 on the other side. I'm usually a Splawn guy, but I was intentionally trying to do something a little different than what I'd usually lean on.

New Big Wreck: 80's vibes you guys will appreciate.

Huge Ian and Big Wreck fan. I even bought one of his signature model Suhrs, but I think it's broken. For some reason, despite having the guitar, I can't play anything like him.

    Seeking Memphis Strat Copy

I'm looking for a Memphis Stratocaster knockoff like the one below, but it black. It was a later, cheaper, 90's Indonesian model with a bigger headstock and logo than the ones from the 80's. It was the first electric guitar that I ever owned and I'd like another one for sentimental reasons. If...

Why do you have so many guitars?

I have around 20 stringed instruments floating around. I do a lot of recording, and different tools are handy to have. It's also nice to have a few guitars with different string gauges and tunings for teaching. That way I'm not changing tunings every other lesson.

I recorded an instrumental track. Filmed a video. Used Suhr/Friedman/Wizard.

A while back I asked myself if I could write an instrumental track that could hold my own attention, let alone anyone else's. I've always played in bands and worked to support a vocalist, so it was definitely me stepping out of my comfort zone. This is what ended up coming out.
