Yes, You can put all those mods, including Marvel Mod, on the Classic as well. Write to Marvel to get it, You may find his email in one of the above posts.

In fact it is practically possible to install and use 3 mods at the same time in XTC:
- bypass of R11 V2A cathode resistor (2nd gain stage for both Red and Blue Channel) - factory bypassed by Structure switch. So the mod is to be used instead of it, You got to solder the mod straight to the...
No problem Mate, I love experimenting as well as sharing my ideas with others :).
Today I thought about something else. As You may know, Structure switch bypasses V2A (which is 2nd gain stage for Blue and Red Channel) cathode resistor R11 4.7K with another 4.7K resistor in parallel bypassed by...
Hi!
Some time ago in this topic: http://bognerampforum.informe.com/mods- ... hlight=r19 Brent wrote about certain mod for XTC's Blue and Red Channel: "This will give it more gain in the mids on all lead channels including the plexi channel. In plexi mode its going to be classic marshall crunch...
Tastes, tastes, tastes... :)
I use Marshall 1960A cab on stage and 1922 at home. Both equipped with GT12T-75's. Used to use V30's. Both speakers have its own flavour, but I find 75's more on hard-rock side (which is the style my band plays).

Thank You very much glpg80, You've helped me a lot!!
In fact, I am able to crank my amp no more than to 3-4 on preamp volume, but I have master cranked to 7, so it will possibly take longer time to brake-in the OT. But I'm gonna take some risk to wait for proper tone :). Although in above...
I've already messed with all besides OT. Speakers, tubes, etc. Changing speakers from V30 to G12T-75 gave me big improvement, but still it is not enough.
Wow, thanks for that shootout :). MM sounds in that comparison close to mine sound now :), but it isn't described which exactly OT is used...
Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. I think too that changing OT makes specific difference. I've heard the DSL before & after installing MM trannies and for my ears there was a big improvement. And if MM's are bright that is the thing which I think will help me to open the amp a bit.
I am...
Hi!
I think about replacing OT in my amp and think about two Mercury Magnetics output transformers: MMO-PX-100 and MMO-100C. Both are designed for hi-gain applications, but PX-100 is described as right for highest gain amps.
The goal is to remove the "blanket" effect (the amp sounds like the...
You might try also Sovtek 12AX7WA & 12AX7WB in your preamp. Currently I have NOS Tesla E83CC goldpins in V1, WA in V2 & V4 position, chinese on V3 & WB in V5-V6.
SED's in power amp are very good choice.

-> dougiefresh: Exactly. I ask for those recently released Wolfgang pickups. As it is hard to buy the original pickups from Peavey Wolfgang guitar (I only have neck one put in bridge position and other neck one in neck position) I thought I might buy new EVH bridge pickup. But I'd like to read...
Huh, that feedback worries me as I had big problem with it when using JB. Now in bridge position I have neck pickup taken out from Peavey Wolfgang guitar and no problems with feedback at all.
But it seems that I will have to buy that pickup to see how it sounds :). But if it'll feedback and...
Hi!
Have anybody tried new EVH Wolfgang pickups? I assume they are produced by Fender, but how their tone would be compared to pickups from Peavey Wolfgang Guitars or Frankenstein pickups?
