    Sizzle edge of my pickups

It is a Bogner xtc based diy amp with 2xV30 cab. And I stress it again - I love my tone, high freq fizz is the only thing to change. And this 15,5kHz filter is really doing good job, especially with little boost on 4kHz for soloing. I noticed a lot of reports with 10 band MXR EQ, that equing...

    Sizzle edge of my pickups

Yep, next rehearsals will show. Is it a common practice to filter sound in fx loop, or it should be performed rather in front of an amp? Basically i like to plug in my guitar directly to my amp without any front, having only timeline effects in fx loop, and now this tiny eq.

    Sizzle edge of my pickups

Thanks for answers guys! Like i mentioned, i actually really like them, very fat, and yet super-responsive, it is just this sizzle. With this gentle 15.5kHz filter in fx loop almost all sizzle disappeared, but i am only worried about some other possible side effects like worse cut through mix etc.

    Sizzle edge of my pickups

Hi, I am an 'almost' happy owner of Dimarzio Transition pickups with ceramic magnets. Almost, cause i really love voicing and character of those pups, but im not a fan of sizzling edge charactersitic for this kind of magnets - especially when playing on higain amps, when those frequencies are...

    DIY amp, too hissy?

Hi, I've bulid my own amp, higain-one, it is some kind of Bogner xtc variation with a bit different voicing. Till this day i was rather very satisfied with its sound, but i changed pickups in my guitar from EMG's Lukather set, to DiMarzio passive ones - with Transition dp255 on bridge. New...

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Yep, you are right, with treble after 3 o'clock it's working just fine!

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Okay, so mixing is the only option. Maybe that is true, cause on Rig Rundown with Luke, sound comes propably only from cab, and it is fat.

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Wow, so basically amp that is famous in internet of being dark (with sooo dark Steves settings) + dark pickups, madness :D When i was on Steve's concert i found his sound extra brigth, full of treble - is it possible to shape frequencies that much only on mixing console? And one more thing -...

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Thank you! Okay so that is something. Ive heard also from other sources that Transition are noticeably brighter than EMG's. So finally Bogner is too dark amp for such pickups as EMG - it start cutting only at treble set >3 o'clock. Maybe that is why Lukather played through Luke II so rarely...

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Thanks for respond! The thing is that i have EMG pickups in my guitar NOW, and i am wondering if they are the reason that my sound is not enough open and bright. So the question is - would Bogner XTC became more opened and cutting thorugh mix with Transition pickups instead of EMG's? And...

    Steve Lukather's NEW Pedalboard-RACKSYSTEMS

Hi Guys! Sorry for digging this old thread, but i feel that somehow my question fit to this topic. Im an owner of MM Luke II and Bogner XTC - cause obviously im a big fan of Lukather :D I wanted to obtain Luke tone and i must say that im a bit disappointed. When i am playing alone - it is...
