People who only claim the first 2-3 albums of said band are the best....

I normally just ignore the OG comments with amps, bands and general comments that music sucks these days. People are welcome to their opinions but I believe newer amps are better, bands can get better and there are tons of new awesome music, you just have to do the work to find it, no different...

    Wireless units..

Agree. At home, 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz might be fine. But that is the only “public” free range to use, so Bluetooth, wireless home phones, just about everything consumer wireless use those bands. I can imagine a show where everyone has a cell phone with Bluetooth makes it harder to connect.

    Wireless units..

Another one for the Shure glxd 16, used on Reverb for around $450 and new around $550. To be fair I just use it around the house, I like to move around and still play, it has good distance. I really didn’t need it but I went down the rabbit hole and ended up saying fuckit and spent the extra...

Whew, not me. I’ve never uttered the words “fine wine” (except for just now)…

Most bizarre comment you ever received about your music.

When I was a teenager, I played in front of my Dad once and all he said was “that’s just weird” haha. I actually took it as a compliment at the time since he only liked Country music. In a riff wars on here I got a comment that my tone sounded like Ball’s To The Wall, still brings a tear to my...

    Do you stack amp heads?

I use a rack I got off Amazon that is sturdy and works pretty well, but I’ll still stack one head on another, but I don’t go over that. Just a mental thing where I’m worried it might fall with a little accidental bump.

    How you use your EQ?

Mr obvious here but try a few options and see what you like best. I’ve tried a bunch and for years I’ve settled on this. These are always on and never touch them. 2 EQ’s, one first before OD pedals in a frown (boosting mids) and one post (in the loop or after a reactive load) in a smile boosting...

    Buffer into buffer..

Currently I use the Spliff from Fortin because it has more outputs, 1 for pedals, 1 for the tuner and 1 iso direct into my AxeFx for when I went to record a raw DI track https://fortinamps.com/products/fortin-spliff But for a long time I used a simple splitter from JHS (they’ve gone up, used to...

    Buffer into buffer..

I use a buffer/splitter so output 1 goes into pedals (or your AxeFx) and output 2 goes to the tuner so it’s always on. Bonus, the output of the tuner can key my noise gate.

What about RT do you like ?

The gear talks, humor and respect that people argue and really go hard at each other in one thread while in total agreement in another. It’s the way it should be. This site can be an asshole, but it’s our asshole.

    Unmarked fretboards are king

I agree no markers look cool, love the look. But I can’t play them. My mind drifts sometimes when playing and I lose my spot without fret markers. Side markets don’t help me at all, never notice them at all, I’m just weird I guess.
