Has anyone used one of these? they are selling for cheap, and I need a noise gate on the cheap so I'm contemplating picking one up? Any thoughts or words of wisdom would be much appreciated. I'm trying to get something decent for $50ish or less, being broke sux, so if u have any other...
I dunno man maybe im simple but I love my tubescreamer. I'd really like to find a Maxon OD-808, just think the tone is killer on that. Otherwise I've got an MXR Zakk Wylde OD I'd sell ya :D
overall I like the sound i get from the pick up, but a more adjustable saddle, maybe with the strings a tidbit closer together, and a good set up should do it I hope. The wrap around thing is annoying as hell anyway.
I used to do that too haha, and when I was recording a few years ago my buddy who was "producing" the track said something about it and basically said "just stop doing it" lol. I tried like hell to stop, I really don't do it anymore, but he's a pro tools wizard and went thru and fixed everything.
I have rehersal tonigtht and I'll post the pics up here when I'm done. It works ok for now since we just started putting this band together so everything I've been writing is rhythm stuff until I get more members to fill out the sound. But it's still so annoying
Yeah some soapbars are a different size. Its off enough, basically when looking directly over the guitar the high e string is not near the pole(looks like ..... . ) the other strings are close, but the e is off. Its not too noticable until you're playing notes from the 8thish fret and higher...
Thanks man, I did a search and have no idea how I missed that lol. It def helped alot... I gues I'm lookin for a new Pick-up for this thing haha... Any suggestions? I like the Super Distortion, but I'm sure theres something else out there that would be cool. I tune this guitar to B standard...
So I have a PRS SE One and I gutted out the soapbar and thru in a Dimarzio Super Distortion. Sounds Great, but my high e string is not over the pole and is dead sounding. Is this a spacing issue, like regular or F space? Someone told me to turn the pick up til it lines up, kinda like a Kramer...
We had bagels and lox     - we still do xmas gifts since some of our family is either christian or pretends to be christian haha. I don't complain I got Chanukah and Xmas this year and did pretty well. The gf got me a new tube screamer (ironically the only new gear I...
Welcome to Rig-Talk!!!
Both are awesome amps. If you're more on the marshall type style I'd say the splawn. Jasin Todd uses the splawn in his live rig and he has an awesome tone. I talked to him for a while at Whiskey Tango in Philly in September and he was raving about the tone he gets...
The tone itself is pretty cool, to be honest i need to not be poor so I can get everything I really want instead of having to mod pedals. I think with a nice compressor and a couple noise gates I'd be good. I'm so frustrated with my set up right now
I just finished the mod on my metal zone and I'm having a tuff time dialing in a nice heavy distortion. does anyone have any suggestions on this? Im trying to do thick heavy riff type stuff?
+1 brother - I love the old stuff just as much as anyone else, but It is def not "Metal." Also someone mentioned the radio... the radio might as well not exist I haven't listened to it in almost 3 years. I love that real musicians are begining to shine in metal today. Guys that know time...
