Agreed. I am missing the point completely. Your comments summed up...are dynamics are hit or miss, and condensers are problematic for metal.
And the theme is '57 killer'
Which is quite a bold statement considering every great guitar recording ever has involved a 57 somewhere.
not trying to...
Agreed.
If we're comparing condensers, then the wallet opens considerable.
The 57 is as ubiquitous as an non-wound G string at this point. And it's still ~$100. Just like it was in 1994.
Aria LP copy bolt on. Wish I still had it.
This thread makes me miss my Vandenberg, my Soloist, my Baretta, my Ibz R540, my Glenn Campbell and my MIM Tele.
And my GMW Jake. Wayniac ...you should sell it back to me!
I guess I see why I am out of place here.
I was IT Director for a bullshit college (30 campuses, big network) for a while. Decent money, lots of butting heads with morons. Now I'm an installer for a regional A/V company. Every day is a pissing match about an IP address or a 70v speaker...
I had 4 ribs removed after a plane crash. I worked PT every day for 6 years, mostly on crunches and stretching.
Finally, I was able to put both fists up my ass and pull out Ed Sheeran and his PRS Starsky.
I recently picked up a 2nd old Boogie (Mark 3 Era) 4x12.
Also bought a pair of Creambacks from the same seller. I had a pair of CL80s in an unused 2x12, so I threw them in the bottom.
I'm still learning the setup, and the speakers definately sound 'new' and not broken in. But so far it...
Count me in on a sick 2150. Maybe once the zombies kill all y'all.
otherwize... turn your amps up. For those lucky enough to have a 4x12 or 2. Let your guitar fill the house up with earsplitting, HOA violating volume.
