Best sounding amp for lead tones

I will have the Brit tones from the Friedman SB. Not Jose modded but still a modded Brit tone that has a pretty awesome lead tone. It's not ultra high gain like the Diezel or Mesa so I think it will blend well. The 2c+/JP2C is what I'm leaning toward as several have indicated....a bit harder to...

    Paul questions

Intrigued by the Paul. Have owned an Einstein 50W and wonder how similar/different the two are. Looking for a lead amp to give me Satriani/Eric Johnson legato tones and have the ability to get John Sykes tones too. The Einstein was awesome but I always felt that Ch 2 was a tad dark and...

    JP2C questions

Wondering if anyone has any opinions on how a JP2c would blend with a Friedman Smallbox. Loving the SB, curious if running two amps would give me something extra. Also curious about the channel master's sensitivity on the Mesa. It's great on the SB.

    Anderson H2+ appreciation thread

I recently picked up a short scale mahogany/koa topped drop top Anderson from Mesa Hollywood...wow what a guitar. It has the H2+ in the bridge and it's a really really good pickup. Very full and thick sounding but also with clarity and bite too but not too bright. It's a bit hot but not too hot...

    Suhr no longer using Tremol-no?

I had one and found it to be a PITA. IF you want to block at trem only you cannot beat the goeldo backbox....it will make a Floyd guitar stay perfectly in tune. The tremelo no is too fragile and will easily break if you are not incredibly careful with it. Not worth the trouble IMO. Their...

    Soundproofing advice

You wont get much of an stc reduction with the egg crating or foam...it only reduces reverberation. Dcoupling with hat channel and resilient clips and the two layers of drywall with green glue imbetween will allow you to crank a 100 watter and barely be able to hear it on the other side of the...

Carol-Ann Triptik - The Straight Goods, Please

I too have wondered about the triptik and trip r...i think there are not many clips out there to go one....some amps have tons of clips like the be100 so you can get an idea of the different tones it can produce. Bonamassa has a ca amp of some sort if that helps. I was interested since it is...

9's on 25.5 scale guitars tuned to concert pitch?

A longer string will be capable of producing more bass and treble...a 25.5 scale vs 24.75 is longer and will be able to vibrate at a slightly lower frequency than a shorter one. Tom Anderson stated this in relation to his 25.5 vs24.75 scale models on his anderson forum.

Most Dissappointing Piece of Gear You've Ever Bought?

I would have to say the mesa stiletto. I still dont know why i bought that amp...what a POS Had a mojo cab that was also pretty shitty...vibrated and rattled. Fulltone pedals are not that great either IMO

    Scumback or Celestion

I agree with Rob. I run a quad of Bm75 ldc's and love them with the be100. It will be the best way to go and you will be set then

    Scumback or Celestion

Imo...if tou like the warmth of scumbacks you will not like v30's...especially with a high gain marshall. V30's are brighter and more edgy/bitey sounding to me. They work great with darker amps like bogner xtc or diezels....for marshall tones i would stick with some type of GB...creambacks get...
