It's not just you.today's hard rock metal lacks a lot IMO.
Gone are guitar solos like the ones from the 80's (aka EVH).
Gone are great songwriters like Lynott, Stradlin/Rose/Slash...etc
Everything was a big event in the 80's....waiting for the new albums to come out then going to buy...
Same here....Saw Kiss in 79 when I was 9, AC/DC on the B&B tour when I was 10, VH in 1980....and so on.
I can't get enough of this stuff....30+ years later.
There are a few Henning clips on the Henning website...sound pretty good.
The CCV is definitely heavier and less marshally/darker than the BE-100 or the Henning.
Much more low end on tap with the CCV and much tighter too than the BE-100.
I liked the clean tones coming out of the bE-100 a lot...
Very nice. Can you say how it sounds without being cranked super loud....had a marsha and felt it had to be jacked up to sound good.
Looking hard at a be or a few other amps.
I have a close friend who WAS AT THAT SHOW!
I saw the infamous first show with Metallica and Faith No More when Axl waited until half the 65k fans had left to start their part of the show. It was worth the wait.
Tommy Emmanuel, he might be the best guitar player alive...he can play anything and does it acoustically.
Stephen Bennett is another acoustic guy that amazes me, he is really good.
Check em out.
Goldwing is right on the money.
Be-100 is the ultimate modded marshall
Ccv is more like he said...a tight super high gain xtc witha dose of mesa and marshall thrown on top.
Having owned both i prefer the Friedman...it is a killer killer amp
Have you tried a straight up clean boost like the Suhr Iso boost.
They just make the signal louder...any kind of OD will add clipping which equals some level of compression.
The clean boost just makes it stronger.
i would also try reducing preamp gain and cranking the master...should expand the...
Wondering how this amp stacks up against the BE-100?
Clips on the henning site are good, curious how much gain saturation it can produce and whether it stays somewhat tight.
Maybe we will see some more clips after the amp show that give some more different looks at what the amp can do.
So far it...
I had not heard of the MCP Garuda?
The Rebel Yells seem to have a pronounced upper bite like the Aldrich's...I didn't like those either.
I wish MCP would update their website with some sound clips and better descriptions as well as full list of pickups offered.
Holy Divers seem to get...
After switching a pickup in one of my guitars to the new F spaced WCR Murkat (a JB variation) I am thinking of doing something similar in my PRSSC245
Current pu is a WCR darkburst....finding it too bright but a killer PAF type pu.
What other JB variants are out there that I should consider for...
