I’d only go digital, if you can get an AxeFx3 turbo. (The route I took) It really is a great sounding unit.

If you’re going to have it in the effects loop, I’d recommend the Boss/EVh delay pedal.

Randy’s tone on “Tribute” was killer. I could never understand why his tone on the studio albums was almost like a Boston-type tone, compared to his live tone/sound.

I liked Randy’s playing. But, I curse Max Norman for killing Randy’s guitar tone on those two Ozzy albums.

It’s been about 7 years since I saw Philip Sayce play at Biscuits and Blues, in S.F. He was ridiculously good. He beat the crap out of his guitar, and the Super Reverb he was using. And it was spectacular.

Easy choice.

I’ll learn songs for gigs.(does that count?) But, mostly, I just play to amuse myself. However, I am jamming with some guys for a possible doom/stoner project. So, we’ll see how that goes.

He’s tried to retire it before, unsuccessfully. He even said, at one point, it’s like his trademark. Would Metallica change their name if tomorrow, “Metallica” became some sort of “offensive” perceived slight against some part of society? No. F_cking. Chance.
