All I know is I loved the Herbert MK1 that I had many years back!
I just didn't like carrying it! Weighed as much as a large 2x12.
Amazing amps though, no question!
Sad that you sold such a cool amp but happy for you that you don't have the other stress on your back.
At the end of the day, it is an amp. Your health is worth a heck of a lot more!
i've been able to own and try many amps over the years.
As far as a dream amp, I would love to have a JVM410HJS again. I should have never sold the one I had years ago.
The other one would be a Bogner 100B.
Zilla cabs are really, really great sounding an super well-built. We had one of the Fatboy cabs in the store that a gent traded in and it was glorious. Weighed about 62lbs and it was nice that they included the side handles. Very similar to the Bogner 212CB that I had.
It really should be how it fits into the mix. When you hear his tones it is probably set that way for how his guitar has to sit with 2 other guitar players also using high gain. Not an easy feat to mix that and glue it together.
Nice to have the best of both setups. Great tube amp and a good modeller.
Sometimes the ears don't agree with the brain on what sounds good to you.
Some days I use the amp and others, the FM9T.
All good either way.
Such a great guitar player and a super nice gent as well if you have ever met him.
Grew up right near where I lived and know him quite well as he frequented the same music stores that I went to.
Great sounding amp! Got to keep an eye on the 3rd power stuff!
It happens. All part of getting older. Have to figure you probably have been playing a long time and the joints eventually do wear out just like any other body part.
I have this happen once in a while as well. Make sure you do a few hand/finger/wrist stretches before you start playing...
It is true that it isn't for everyone. There are many that like a power amp and cab.
Playing live a lot for many years, I'm used to hearing my tone through monitors, hence why I have no issue using FRFR, especially with the high gain stuff. Being older now, I just don't want to carry around...
