One way to know for sure it to know the start/end of the pickup and what colors correspond to that. Each anufacturer can change these colors, so it is best to contact them directly if you are able to for that information. Are you using a mini humbucker like in the diagram or an actual single coil?

My Besttronics cabling stomped my Mogami by miles. The BTPA also measures at half the capacitance compared to Canare, etc. Cannot recommend BTPA cabling enough.

I saw this earlier today and thought they sounded pretty good. Definitely sounded better than what was in there previously. I also didn't hear that standard flatness I associate with noiseless single coil pickups generally, which is a bonus.
