Swapping out the orange drops will be a positive change 100%. I find they slightly scoop out the mids and push more bottom and top end.
The PIO will do you well.
You could keep what Gibson used to use as stock at .033 or you could throw an .022 on the neck and something slightly larger on the...
I figured it depended on the Hi/Low signal device and the buffer would be needed depending on that.....
I'm sure OP will get it figured out - it isn't that crazy.
"not in all possible combinations without tone loss (see manual)"
Hey, I just realized I missed part of your post. Yes, I would imagine in a W/D/W scenario or some more advanced setup like a Helix, etc, it would need a buffer possibly.
Nope. Passive. Even if I had pedals, everything I have is true bypass 100% but I am not using them in this scenario (and 99% of the time in general tbh). Straight into a Rivera all tube amp. My Uphoria says "Midas preamp" on it. I would guess it does the part mentioned in the manual, as does...
IDK, all I can say is that I use it with my tube amp and my DI with zero issues and I do not use a buffer anywhere.
I use one of those Behringer Uphoria models. Maybe the input of the device has an input buffer built in or something?
Weird. Idk. Best of luck!
Here is the one you want. This is specifically for reamping. I am doing the same as you - micing the rig live and also splitting the signal out to my DI for reamping later.
Works perfect...
Just saw this. What you want is the Lehle P-Split. Does not affect tone whatsoever.
You do not need the P-Split stereo mentioned above, just the normal P-Split.
It's just called the P-Split III.
I am just not into solderless stuff, though I get why people are - for ease of assembly/ease of function.
I find that the smallest solderless connectors are still quite a bit larger than my SP400s. I personally prefer the reliability of a good solder, but to each their own.
"they’re not...
This is a good argument, and there is definitely one to be had.
I say, yes, effects sound different whether they are in front or in the loop, even if you primarily play cleans. It has to do with the way the pedals are affected by the input tube and how that sounds down the line.
Even in just...
Ah, I tried finding this for my amp and was let down with what I could get figured out, even looking at a wiring schematic - Riveras can be intensely wired!!!
That would be so sweet man.... I tried doing the same mix! 😂 😂
Mine is probably similar to this layout, would explain the tonal...
Mullard long grays are really damn good sounding. I also prefer those over the RCA long greyplates. The Greys push that extra bass and treble,, scooping, or just leaving flat, the midrange. The RCA long blacks are more like a Euro tube except they keep the bass and treble along wth that thumping...
