Nice! If you are into pedals - there is a builder on here named Griffin Analog who makes really killer stuff.
80 pedals??! Funny how quickly they build up.
I never think I have that many, but that is always relative.
The younger me would have thought I have a ton!
I see some people on here...
What's really sad is now that car has more personality than anything that has hit the road during the last 30 years....
Maybe Gibson is trying to apply the same logic....except....there have been REALLY cool guitars to come out within that time period.
I'm not even a big Gibson guy and when I saw this I went "What?"
Who wants the Norlin stuff.....?
The whole community constantly complains about it.
Now they release the guitars no one wanted for 4k and they are all over it?
Gibson understands their customer base. I never will
Hopefully that works! I had an Ibanez where they did the prestige fret rounding and they were done so rounded inward that my high E always slipped right off. Was annoying AF and I sold that guitar. One of the Made in Indonesia models, yours probably isn't jacked like that.
I wish people listed more! I always say stuff like "I have this installed in X guitar going into X style amp"
If there is anything else like dropped tuning or thick/thin strings, I mention that as well.
I feel that it helps a little bit at least.
I mean, sometimes a new pickup is the solution 100%.
After reading this, I played my LP I just perfected the height of the Planet Tone Blues Heritage set on and....
Damn dude, had one of those glued on smiles.
It really is a wonderful thing when every little piece of a rig lines up...
Which is wild because I swapped out my 490R/498T set due to not quite hitting the mark with the pairing of the two. The 498T is a fun pickup for a specific 80s kinda high mid sound on its own but doesn't work with that neck, which is a bit wooly and also snappy? Idk didn't dig em.
As others have said, I would swap out the quick connect system.
If that does not get it where you want it, you could do small changes like changing the wiring and stuff but that's not going to make the pickup that much different you dislike the overall tone of it.
If you end up swapping...
Hello all,
I am fortunate, in that through working on not only my own guitars, but others, that I get to dial in guitars pretty darn often, including the pickup height.
A lot of work lately has also been including installs of new caps, wiring shemes, pickups, or all of it together.
This...
I like to get the best bang for my buck, but I never want to settle tonally. The BTPA stuff has delivered on all accounts.
Best of luck on your wiring/board!
It has been a bit since I have looked at supplies. At the price range TrueTone comes to mind but it has been awhile since I looked.
Be...
For what it's worth, I also replaced all of my instrument cabling with BTPA cables as well. I like Switchcraft ends on those personally.
CA-0446 is the instrument cable.
Go with BTPA cabling, it smokes Mogami IMO and I have tried both.
For patch cables: CA-0678 Link: (https://btpa.com/CA-0678.html )
The ends I like that are very small and work extremely well are the SP400s, which are also on their site.

I mentioned to my Sweetwater rep awhile back that the Laffy Taffy were my favorite. Since then, they have sent me Taffy consistently and.....it makes my damn day every single time. I do not normally get this much in one order, so I am extra extra happy.
When my daughter was going through health...
Happy to report I received my bag stuffed full of Taffy - as usual from my awesome rep. That Taffy are my favorite. Mentioned it once to my rep and they hook me up!
Any product I can get from SW for the same price as elsewhere - I get. Is it due to the Taffy? Partially, yes.
