Always been surprised at how sloppy Slash and Axl are. Slash's "shredding" to me always sounds like a 13 year old me shredding pentatonic blue scales haha.
I have made up a repository of AxeFX Ultra Content and Archive patches etc
This folder contains as much legacy stuff as I could gather for the AxeFX Ultra. Hope it proves useful.
Software:
AxeEdit (latest beta for AxeFX Ultra)
Axeomatic

Firstly welcome to the Fractal world. Secondly... DIGITAL BAD, TUBE GOOD. Now we've got that out of the way...
As others have said, grab some great IRs are you're good to go. Defo download Axe Edit and play around. Check for firmware updates etc. Axe-Exchange is a great place for presets.

Bring back Kevin Moore to replace Rudess, get Petrucci back on the Ibanez / Triaxis combo too and then I'll be interested. I'm also totally happy with bringing back the cheese, it gave it some bombast and character.
I really enjoy my YJM single coils. Each one is wired slightly differently for each position. Positon 2 and 4 on the blade swtich gets you that really nice jangly sound with less noise.
One thing I recommend all guitar nuts to do is read the Official Biography, then read the unoffocial Biography. They read like two completely different accounts of the same events. WILD.
He's an interesting dude. I love his early works. But when he started producing himself from the home...
Love Helloween. Would love to know more about the early days rigs.
Walls of Jericho had such a raw sound. Sounds like it was recorded live off the floor or even from the desk live haha. Still loved it despite it's chaotic speed metal nature.
Keeper 1 and 2 are still 2 of my favourite metal...
I can recommend some audio books that have large amounts of studio stories:
- Take it Off: Kiss Truly Unmasked
- Birth School Metallica Death Part 1
- Eruption The Eddie Van Halen Story
- Iron Madein 80-81 by Greg Prato
- Rush Across the Decades Books 1-3 by Martin Popoff

I Think you'd be pleasantly surprised by the Palmer Macht 402. I run mine with a JMP-1 or ADA MP1 and it's great! Much prefer it to the Marshall 8008 as you can taper off any high or low end with the controls.

400 watts bridged for mono use

I feel the same. There is just something about amp sims I struggle with. I always get way to much low end I can't dial out without an external EQ. Then the latency... A Fractal is 1ms rountrip which I'm too used to.
In my opinion, telling RSM to "give up" on something plenty of people do, kinda feels negative. The hobby should be about trying new things and innovating with guitar tech. I'm sure some people told Eddie to "give up" on his technical endeavors and he uckily ignored them.
With NDSP at 16 block...
I didn't assume, you discouraged people with negative assumtions. So I felt it best to correct some of those assumptions with real world examples. Also so @rsm isn't put of by the negativity and just gives up, as you recommended.
"It's still time to give up before it's too late. Anymore effort...
